Dude you’d love it. I’m not even a big hunter (I’ve only been once during Elk season) and it’s amazing.

If you have a long drive/commute or just some time in a weekend - excellent listen.

It’s basically Joe just having a super informal conversation with people from anywhere from like 1.5 hours to 3 hours. A lot of it is just blathering nonsense, but some episodes are really good. He’s done one with Kelly Slater and another with Laird Hamilton. The one with the Laird was really good. He gets a bunch of really interesting people on. Definitely a good listen.

I have to agree. When he gets off on a tangent about drugs I usually skip to the next podcast lol, but when he has guys like David Goggins and other insanely athletic dudes who do gnarly stuff across the world outdoors, it’s really cool.

Puts shit in perspective when I’m feeling “tired” 30 min before the gym.

I mean if a dude can treck across Antarctica with a 300lb sled by himself in subzero temps, maybe I should stop being a pussy and go to the gym ahaha.

I can't remember the full details why, just the TLDR - BCAA's are typically consumed through foods. EAA's are harder to come by and provide better results. Seems alot of companies have stopped producing as many BCAA and more switching to EAA. Some of the guys I follow also seem to favor it as well (who knows if just propaganda) but, meh.

Ever since I started EAA about 6 months ago I've been able to sustain more performance in the gym without losing the endurance. If it's placebo, IDC, it seems to be working LOL

You can get BCAAs in food... but when it takes 16 hours to digest vs. getting them in your system within an hour... there is a different result.

I'm thinking of buying them again because I'm going to try to add a lot more cardio to my routine.

Yea that is true. One common thing to look out for on BCAA is, they typically add stimulants to them. I hate that. Most EAA stays away from stims another reason I prefer those. You can find BCAA without stims, it's just a bit harder.

I'm very careful about what I get. I'm horrificly intolerant to dyes so I buy pure BCAAs with no additives, no colors, no flavors etc. Its basically chalk powder but I don't care LOL

Unflavored bcaas taste so damn bad haha. Even if I mixed them with my pre or protein they’d still have a funky flavor.

The kind I used wasnt too bad plain. I will get packets of the vitamin C stuff to add flavor. Its hard to find flavors without dyes in them.

    Speaking of injuries...

Had an unofficial test day yesterday after a 12 week program with my new coach. We only focused on bench/upper body since I was recovering from my hip surgery in March. Last time I maxed bench was in May 2018 at my last power lifting meet and my third attempt was 319 (3 white lights). My body weight that day was just shy of 183 to make my weight class. Yesterday my morning body weight was 174.4 and I went to the gym around noon.

I smoked 275 and 300 and hit 315 easily all with a nice pause on my chest. My new unofficial max is now 330 but I did not pause, at all, on my chest so I'm not happy about it. I panicked holding that much weight and just tried to throw it up as quick as possible. It still moved fast enough though so we got greedy and went for one more attempt and tried 335. I was gassed and missed my groove and had no power off the chest. As soon as it started coming back down the bar started traveling up towards my head and my left shoulder was rotating with it so I just dropped it to my chest (closer to my collar bone at this point) and waited for my coach to curl it off me (he's 6'7" about 330lbs;I wasn't worried about him letting me die).

Shoulder feels better today but still sore. Going to shut it down and just do cardio through the holiday next week and then get back to it and hope all is well. I did similar to my right shoulder a couple years ago climbing and it got better with rest so here's hoping. Also thinking about getting some massages over the break too..

Damn dude. Hope it was just a minor sprain. I was cringing reading this not gonna lie! I hate bench especially near exhaustion, it can be tricky and dangerous!

    Great squat day today.
Working sets of 345x5, 390x3, and hit 440x5 on the max out set.

Finished up with some ssb squats, single leg press, calves, and a superset of hamstring curls and leg extensions.

15 minutes of stairs to kill me. Gunna be a fun next couple days.
