Bought these thinking they were overlays (my bad!). Soooooo, I debadged and put them on anyway. Scary how easy the chrome "Tacoma" badges came off. Happy so far, have not gone through a car wash, but they seem pretty durable.

Ebay, seller was "George_Newman2008" I think. Shipped from CA via US Mail and arrived in Maryland in a week.
You probably already know this, but use some painters tape to mark the top or bottom of the original chrome badge. Not for protection, but to know exactly where the new one goes.

I disagree. I blacked mine out out and love the subtle look.

Thanks for the tip, I seen others do it too, probably wouldn’t have thought of it when removing them though!

I agree with you, I can’t wait to get the black ones my MGM. Although the chrome trim piece on the grill is starting to grow on me !

    They came yesterday !

Quality seems on par with the factory chrome, they are more of a matte black then a gloss, and came with backing tape on them already.
Don’t have them on the truck yet but here’s a pic of them.

What method is everyone using to remove their badges? Heat gun, fishing twine?

I didn't even need a hair dryer. Fishing line made it quick. Then just rub the leftover stickum off! I found that rolling the leftover adhesive against itself made it come off really clean. Soap and water to finish for me.

Anyone still have the OEM limited- V6- and 4x4 overlays leftover? I'd be interested in them.

I’ll be removing my “Tacoma” decals from both doors, and my V6 decal. All are black from the factory....if anyone is interested.
