Any suggestions on removing the threads on the pcv valve still in the engine? I have the 2.7l and the valve is in the back near the firewall, so there's not much room to work.

The 2.7l pcv valve is a threaded piece instead of the rubber grommet with a tube

    Ruh Roh!
I am of no help, sorry op. Interested in the solution though. Good luck.
Btw, what is the material the stuck piece made of?

The way I would attempt that would be to put a flat head screwdriver in there. One wide enough to be snug, maybe even need hammered a tad bit.. it should pierce the sides of the stuck piece and then lefty loosey back it out.
Maybe heat the tip of the screwdriver before or even better if you can heat the area around the piece that's stuck.

Another one of my thoughts, but the location is 3 or 4 inches from the firewall, so a wide enough screwdriver won't fit unless I cut the tip off and put it in a set of vise grips

Might be able to take a jig saw fine-cut blade (not a Harbor Freight blade), and manually cut the plastic threads (by hand). If the blade doesn’t fit, it will need cut to make it fit. A chainsaw sharpening file may also be a good option since it’s not flimsy.

Yeah, understood. I am in no way saying my method is the right method.
The other way would be, as suggested above... a small saw to try and cut through one side of the piece.
Again ... not saying this is the correct/proper method. Try at your own risk.

You might have to remove the valve cover to get it out, but I hope not. Good luck with the other suggestions here, hope it comes out.

I was able to figure it out. First picture is with the valve still in, the 2nd was with it out. I was lucky that the threads were still in tact, so with a little elbow grease I was able to slowly unthread it by hand.

I probably should have tried before posting this, but with how hard it was to start unthreading the bolt with a wrench, I didn't think it was an option.
