wat...we never tied a strap to your bumper. We used the hook to the left of the skid plate

TBH I don't recall that at all lol, but there's no way I'd pull someone by a brush guard

Wat, I distinctly remember asking you where you hooked up and then one of you guys said my grille guard.

I don’t have the eyelet and my hook is backwards so you couldn’t use it.

 

My hook is backwards as well but you can still loop a strap through it or use a shackle if needed, I've even unbolted mine to put a strap through before to avoid pulling any other way

I honestly have no recollection of the recovery we're talking about so I can't 100% say how we did it, but I know for a fact I'd never think to use a brush guard as that could easily damage it and/or where it mounts to the truck. Unless maybe you just needed the tiniest of tugs maybe but that looks like you would've needed a good pull.

Are we even sure I did the pulling? I usually offer my truck as a last resort for that especially in the sand...not easy to do with a manual without burning clutch

WHY is your hook backwards?

 

fyi soft shackles are good to have for that sort of thing (looping through a tight recovery point), I need to pick some up

Because my grille guard wouldn’t fit otherwise. It’s made for a Ford Ranger or Frontier I believe.

 

I don’t remember if you did the pulling, it could’ve been @FLBAdrian. It was during the night run and I couldn’t get over the sand dune, I would get caught at almost the top.

I remember you guys standing around the front confused because there was nowhere to hook a strap to. When I asked where you guys hooked to someone said “your grille guard”.

 

huh...maybe they were just messing with you to freak you out lol. Cause I imagine pulling via the grill guard would not end well but I could be wrong

 

You really don’t remember that? It’s the only time during the whole Pismo trip I needed to be pulled out. I think.

Now that I think about it all the other times someone pulled me out by my tow hitch. Not the front.

 

I remember one recovery at night and we did hook it up the the grille guard my synthetic rope didn’t fit in the hook and it was backwards too. And I pull you out
