What should I buy?

Im looking at either a 1st or 2nd gen tacoma regular cab for a off road/daily sort of a overland build but its gotta be 4wd and a automatic transmission because it's sort of gonna be a first car that i buy.

 

I just did a search for single cab 4x4 auto and there was only 1 within 500 miles of me and it was a 4banger. I would look at getting at least an access cab, I think you will appreciate the extra space.

Why regular cab? Thats a lot less room than access or double cab

Why limit your interior space to a regular cab? At least go with a access cab! You'll be happier in the long run l think. l personally would go with a Double Cab.
Better to have the space and not need it, than need it and not have it.

^Thats a good point but if its a family vehicle i might need 4 doors but i could get away with a acess cab.

 

anything other than a regular cab... get the v6.

 

Get a double cab so you have room for all your girlfriends.

 

Only thing I wish my reg cab had is a V6. Interior space hasn't been too much of an issue with me. I'll take the lack of space for the awesome maneuverability/ ease of driving in cities and tight trails.

You have a family and are considering an regular cab?

 

Family= DOUBLE cab. You'll want the space. Although you lose out on the extra length of the bed, which is nice for sleeping in when it's cold/wet outside lol

If you can afford it, YES!

 

That would be perfect for a quite ride and good mileage to the gal.
