Post lift sound

Hey guys - 2019 OR 4x4. One week ago I installed Bilstein 5100s on all corners, OME 887, Icon 1.5 aal and had the front end aligned. Since the install anywhere between 40-60 mph I'm getting a whistling sound that lasts around 3-8 seconds then goes away. There are no vibrations or any other issues that I am aware of.

Ideas?

 

Sounds more like a diff howl issue than a normal vibe issue with lifting

 

Check rear diff fluid level

 

So potentially the issue could be fluid level causing howl? There was no noise prior to the lift and no fluids leaking after as i have checked everything a few times since the lift - coincidence? Would this be a dealer thing? Truck has 1200 miles.

 

could diff howl until fluid foams and/or splashes enough to coat everything?

 

Well rear diff fluid seems to be the consensus. I will take it to the dealer and have them take a look.

Easy enough to check yourself. On a level area, pull the top (fill) plug on the rear diff. Fluid level should be at the fill hole and slowly trickle out. If it does not stick your finger in to check level.

 

I suppose if I can install the lift I can check the diff level - Thanks!

 

If it were the diff the noise wouldn’t go away.
