I’ve been running my ADS for few months now and they are great. I just added an Odyssey battery and plate bumper with winch and the front end took a nose dive. I’m sitting at 21.5” in the front, center of hub to fender.

Should I just add an inch of preload? How bad will it affect the ride? What did others do in this situation? 750# an option?

You added around 200# to the front end. Expected. How much pre load you have cranked in so far?

    Going up!

Get the front wheels off the ground, loosen the adjustment bolt a little, and use a punch (5/8” iirc) to crank some lift into it. Shouldn’t take much.

I have the spanner wrench. I’ve been talking to a few guys and we are going to add some preload. Can I gent 1.5-2” out of them? How would the ride be?

Ride will be fine, you can get 2.5-3”.

Throw that wrench away. It’s trash, and your knuckles and patience will thank you.

An inch of preload should set you right. The ride won’t get affected that much with a bumper. I’ve got about 3/4” passenger and 7/8” driver and it’s very nice with my lo-pro bumper/winch combo (135lbs)

I only wanted 1.5” of lift though. So I’m sitting at 22.5”. What are you trying to achieve?

So I should be fine adding 2” then? Is it going to change anything? I keep hearing that. I have a punch set on stand by. They are new so I’m hoping they won’t be seized up too bad.

Right now I’m at 21.5 in the front and 24 in the rear. If I could get two more inches out of the front, I would be really happy. This is where she’s at right now. C9BEFC45-6DD1-4FFC-ACA3-2D576B1DE97B.jpg

Try 1-1.5” of preload first. 2” is a lot.

Before you do make sure you clean the hell out of those threads with a toothbrush (plastic brissles) and LOTS of WD-40/lube.

If you have trouble getting the collar to twist after you loosen the Allen bolt, one guy on this forum said he used a ratchet strap to help compress the coil by hooking it about 3-4 coils apart from where he put the hook ends...he said it worked. Wish I had the thread still

1/2” of preload is supposed to equal 1” of lift

In all honesty though, your truck looks great as is.

    Silver rocks!

I’m planning to remove it from the truck and compress the spring. I will definitely start with 1” of preload then.

That looks really good. I love the way it looks, just that 2.5” of rake bothers me. Getting ready for 285’s.

Sometimes, rainy Mondays are the best days

This is the first aftermarket suspension I’ve ever purchased for one of my vehicles. I don’t think I’ll be disappointed

    Awwwww yeeeeaaaah.

Just don’t be surprised if it seems a bit stiff for the first 1000 miles. They will break in easier if you keep the clickers turned down at first

Good tip, I’ll give them a beating to break everything in.

Safe to get an alignment right away or will they settle a bit too? I guess if I adjust back up the the original height the geometry will be the same, huh?

Just get the alignment done and then checked after they settle. It’s always a good idea. The shocks sit taller with the default thread preload ADS send them with than stock shocks

I would get an alignment right away, my front was way out of whack when I installed my ADS even after coming from another lift.
