I love my cnd tire Fiskars hatchet, thinking I will get the axe to match at some point. They are pretty cheap for the quality you get.

That Pulaski Axe tool thing looks awesome. But at that price, id be scared to use it like a real tool.

The Pulaski axe is an awesome tool, made for forest fire management. The hoe on the back is used to create fire lines, where it stops ground bush fires from crossing over. The axe is... well an axe used for axing people questions.

the two combined made for a lighter setup than suffering by carrying a seperate hoe and axe out in the bush.

there are cheaper ones, it's just a nice one i found off of a "best of 2019" site. i'm still undecided which brand to go with on the subject since it's been on my list of stuff to get for a few years now but never really looked into which one is the best.

buy the cheapest tools you can - once they break, that means you use them enough to warrant a good one.

The Fiskars has a lifetime warranty. Its good and tough, and the handle absorbs shock well. Canadian Tire usually puts them on sale for 20% off a few times a year, and occasionally 40% off.

yeah it's 20% off right now, it's why i'm considering it but never used a fiberglass handled tool before, old-fashioned hickory is the way to go or so i'm told.
Though since the Fiskars uses a fiberglass handle it should take a lot of beating but if the head flies off i'm SOL right?

I've heard for the price they're good.
I have their splitting maul. Thing is a beast.

But I have a hultafors and gransfors bruks. I usually carry one or the other camping. They're proper felling axes. And I actually bought a Fiskers to try and compare then returned it lol.

For the price like I said they're pretty good. But they will not chop as nice as the latter.

Council tool is another decent axe. Granfors has been in the business since the 1800s I believe. But you won't find one for under $120
