Which is why I suggested the method wasn't the best. Cattle ranchers have a lot of pull so I agree, they'll always have the key.

That's what I do. The wife has the transponder in her car. Added on file are the Taco, the GTI, and the motorcycle. Never been an issue in over 8 years.

My motorcycle is set up without a transponder. The car and truck both have them though. I guess with the car and truck I can switch to 2 or 3 passengers on the transponder when I have others in the vehicle. Ca
Same here, transponder in the truck...the moto and car on file. No problems so far.

Well same shiet happened to me. Only difference is my car stolen and fuckers took it over 2 or 3 bridges. Once I sent them the police report, they waived the fines.

Funny thing is we have five logging trucks that only pull logs up in the mountains. Two of our trailer("TRAILERS") have been ticketed. One from Oakland has a parking ticket and one from that stupid bridge. I love this whole thing of the state and dmv doesn't do anything wrong.

What happens is the reader fails or someone incorrectly enters data and away they go. When you catch them, no apologies and often repeated calls to unfuck. SF handed out parking tickets by making up plate numbers. Couldn’t dispute except in person. Right, imma spend all day for 30 bucks?

My father in law has a Jeep that has been torn apart in his shop for years. It got a ticket from somewhere down in LA.

I forgot all about this. I got a ticket somewhere in the Bay Area after I moved to Arkansas in 2014. My truck wasn't even registered in CA anymore.

Seriously, my father in law is convinced they just pull random plate numbers and send out red light, fast track, etc violations.

Not saying he's right... but how many people will just pay them instead of jumping through all the hoops to clear it up?

SF did it. I'm pretty sure the bike in the picture on my Fastrax ticket isn't mine. It's not even the right brand. So yeah, I think they make shit up and people just pay-I did that in SF because the time and effort to fight a parking ticket makes it not worth it.

All this Fastrak talk made me check my online account. Sure enough, 13 charges going through the 580 express lane - all of which are errors.

Car is a Nissan Leaf with current Clean Air Vehicle decals. Fastrak Flex is set at 2/3 as I always have a passenger/s.

Called to dispute - “they will submit a formal inquiry to reverse charges. Give us 7-10 days”

I asked if this happens often, she said yes.

I think a big factor is the State is using a fully automated process with image recognition software which uses computers to identify license plates from video/photo. In the scenarios above the software is probably misidentifying images and therefore getting incorrect license plate numbers. For example the software could identify a "0" as an "8" or "B" as an "8". There is no human QA/QC and hence just automatically sends the tickets/bills/violations. The software probably correctly recognizes license plates 99% of the time (such as the examples mentioned above who go through without their fastrak but have that license plate on file of the fastrak); however, with the large population in our state which drive .. 1% of incorrect tickets sent out to the public is still significant in my opinion. Fucking computers. It's a love/hate relationship for me.

I would bet my savings that is where the error is.

Not enough to have a build thread.
But I want it NOW (insert my best whiney little girl voice)

Couldnt for the life of me find how to navigate to it on their website, but I googled "how to activate a Costco fastrak" and found a link that worked. Used it last night

And idk if it works like this when you order one from fastrak, but the one I bought from Costco ($25) came with $30 worth of toll money on the account
