What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Yeah, I guess considering the diameter of the filament, it is a lot. It was hard to see without that Samsung 16MP zoom. I could see a few strands of something, and a bit of discoloration, but it didn't look like much to the naked eye.

And I'd know as I have an SX single cab and it also get over 20 all the time. But you never have to down shift on the highway hahaha

 

does anyone know if its possible to add the rear view mirror with map lights if it didn't come with map lights from the factory?

 

Oh I know, this is my 3rd 1st gen, and the second one I’ve done tundra brakes on. This is the first one I’ve done that was otherwise stock, and the brakes are fantastic

Wouldn’t be hard.. just run some wires to power the lights. I’ve put Gentex mirrors in every car ive owner. Not much different

 

yea just wanted to know if the trucks without it have the mounting holes but I just confirmed myself that they do, which makes sense

 

Oh wait your talking about the actual factory map lights. Doh, thought you were talking about the mirrors with them build into the bottom of the mirror. Yea you should have all the holes there to do it, just some trimming of the headliner and maybe wiring (might have the wiring up there, my tundra did)

 

Easy peasy. Just be careful stabbing the holes in your headliner for the recessed part of the light. Run a power wire to the dome light power wire in the a pillar.

 

Yes, holes line up and put a Gentex mirror in also with garage door remote in it, outside temp, self dimming mirror and compass too

They make a few different versions of the map light.

Get the one like mine with 3 buttons as shown.

The 2 outside buttons turn the separate lights on or off for each side and the center one
activities the door option and put in LED bulbs

Question for you guys with the tundra brake upgrade...do any of you have the larger 318mm stock rotors like myself...does it matter when buying the parts for the upgraded brakes? Just trying to see what all I need. I know there's a 1000 threads just looking for specific input. Thank you!

 

No, the windows are all tinted, I did a medium tint 20 years ago

 

it just did not look like it was tinted at all in the mirror there!
maybe it looks different from the outside? or the sunlight was shining at a certain angle
