I miss mine, but I know if i got in one. I would never be able to get myself out of the seat.

My brother had a Hyundai elantra. They sit fairly low. We had a long drive and I was riding passenger. We got to our destination and I threw open the passenger door. Tried to throw my right leg out and it didn't move. I looked at my brother and tried to do it again and nothing. I tried everything to get out of his car like a normal person. :( wasn't going to happen. After a couple of minutes rocking back and forth as I could move from the waist up, just nothing else was working. I looked at the ground and decided it wasnt that far, so I reached out with my left hand to the ground followed by the right a d sorta cart wheel/ roll out onto the parking lot.
Takes me a minute or two to get my legs under me and I am good, but dreading getting back in.
Mind you we were in the middle bfe new Mexico with California plates going into a bank.

Same for me. I usually need to pick my legs up to get them out the door, but on my track i just swingmy body and slide out. Easy peasy. I loved how go-cart-like my civic was, though.

Yup, I loved the go cart feeling. Down shift from 5th to 2nd and make 90 degree turns:D

Interesting you say that. I actually had some really severe back pain getting out of the military and endured some solid pain (sometimes to the point of dropping on the spot out of nowhere) for about 2 years. I bought a new bed, I begun to work differently, I had to sit differently, sleep differently, apply biofreeze and icy hot regularly, I basically changed my entire lifestyle to cater around the pain.

I would visit the chiropractor once or twice a week to have him crack me out. I went to deep tissue massages, would go heavy on the icy hot and biofreeze. Eventually the pain subsided to a much more tolerable level. I'd probably say about two years is what it ended being before I begun to physically come around. Now I can sleep normally again and just be myself. Don't get me wrong the pain still flares up, and sometimes hard, especially in the mornings, but one thing I found that seemed counterintuitive much like you said was working out would allow for excellent pain management. I still do workout and as long as I stay limber, on my toes and regularly active, there will be minimal to no pain.

I guess it is true. The less we move, the faster we die.

You said in one of your posts you were going to up your Lantus with the shot. The last time they prescribed me a Novolog pen and had me check my sugar before every meal and take a premeal shot to keep the sugar down. This is what I have to do everyday now no biggie

I go in for a thing and they won't prescribe anything stronger than tylenol. I had a dislocated shoulder for 6 months.... no meds. Xrays and MRI taken and doctors still said it wasn't dislocated. I fell again, the opposite way from when I dislocated it, and popped it back in. The last 6 months have been better, but a year of being a 1 arm poolman has sucked donkey balls.

Remember I'm type 1 so its business as usual with a few adjustments. My blood is already running high. I have a dexcom so I know what my BG is all of the time.

I use to take gabapentin for nerve pain caused by L4-L5 herniated disk. I blew my back out overseas and had pain all the way down to my lower calf muscle. Flew the 14 hours home standing in the plane most of the trip because it was unbearable to sit for any amount of time. Took me 3 months of little to no sleep (literally was averaging 2-3 hours of sleep a day, and at most an hour at a time) before having surgery. I have all the sympathy in the world for people going through that shit, it sucks balls.

Surgery was the best thing that happened to me. Literally woke up and the pain was gone. 3 years later and absolutely no regrets, life changing.

If it comes to that. I can't take time off of work right now. They just increased our region size and are cutting back a lot of the company. I don't need to be on the radar. I make a decent salary and everything I do is for my family. I'd rather live in pain than ruin my family's way of life. I know..stupid. It's how I am.

Understandable. Luckily for me I was hurt on the job so was able to take the time off without it being a financial burden.
