I suppose a better question would be, which is easier?

 

If you have a Mac, do bootcamp and install a free copy of Windows 10 courtesy of Microsoft. I wouldn't necessarily buy a PC just to load tunes/datalog with it if you already have a Mac.

However, If you have a PC already I'd still strongly encourage you to get a Mac

But the windows based keyboard does make some of the shortcut keystrokes/functions easier to use if you want my honest opinion.

 

VCM suite and the MPVI2... what are these credits used for?

 

To license your ECU (specific to your ECU ID/VIN), enabling you to write modified tunes to the ECU.

Without licensing, you can still read the file and look at the values. You can also datalog without licensing.

Coming from a guy who has owned both and still finds reasons to despise both, I will tell you that the hardware and software for which the program is written for natively is always the most ideal to run for obvious reasons. HPTuners was built around the windows structure and because of such I would recommend running Windows, HOWEVER, if you do not have the luxury of running Windows because you own a Mac, then it will do just fine as long as you run Bootcamp.

I drove 70, but a real mellow 70. No bi-polar driving like I usually do. Slamming it out of nowhere and for no reason and such was not a thing this time. Hahaha.

 

So I’d only need 1 credit... what about the PRO features? Any good?

 

Our platform requires 4 credits.

Unless you are wanting to log external sensors (Wideband/Boost/etc.) there's not much use in the Pro Features for the avg. user.

Yup, and it’s peanuts compared to what it leads too as well. By my figuring my HP has cost me over $2k and counting, I wouldn’t trade it though.

Looks like you’ve got some testers. Looking forward to see what you figure out.

If you have a windows laptop, use windows. If you have an Apple laptop, use Bootcamp to load windows. Either way you’re using Windows. In my case, I have a 13” MacBook Pro. So I’m using Windows 10 via Bootcamp and it works flawlessly, not a single issue.

Only 3 miles? I can at least double that!

 

Is anyone aware what is the smallest pulley you can put on the charger with out cutting the snout?

 

I’m thinking of getting my father in law to make me a 2.5” or 2.6” pulley as he works with lathing.
Questions:
1-I’m assuming I’ll have to cut the snout if I use one of these sizes?
2- I’m also assuming from speaking to some of you that there is a strong possibility that I’ll uave to upgrade my fuel pump

 

Get the quick change pulley, if you can. That way you can swap to future sizes without all of the intense labour each time.

And upgrade the pump.

 

Just cut the snout and buy a good fuel pump. Not a day goes by that I regret doing so.
