Fully articulate the suspension. Push the wheel as far into the well as possible, forward, backward, etc.

No I actually haven’t yet. I took it on a light trail once and had no rubbing. I have yet to still go on a heavy trail but I think the only possible problem area would be the pinch weld.

Finally placed the order!! They will be shipped Monday or Tuesday!! I went with Bronze 16x8 4.5 BS, I’ll be sure to post a pic when they arrive! I plan on putting a 2in lift, what size tire would be recommended without rubbing?

Without rubbing I would say 265s, or do a 3 inch lift with new UCAs and 285s :D

I was at Discount Tire the other day and I asked manager about preventing the scratching around the center. He showed an attachment they use for the center that bolts on through the lugnuts (lugnut attachment) so that the shaft sits on the attachment rather than the rim after it’s done being balanced. He also told me to remind them every time I take the wheels to be balanced. So just a heads up for anyone who is curious??

That's called a pin-plate. Back-coning also works just as well since they use a rubber locking nut to tighten down against the face of the wheel.

Got a picture request. Trying to find a 16x8 3.5" BS on stock TRD OR suspension with 265/75 tires, if it was dark bronze on a super white it would be icing on the cake. Going to try to get away with that size/combo before lift.

I would just do the lift first and slap on some 285s and call it good :D

I might get burned at the stake for saying this, but was thinking about sticking with 265/75 after lift. I kind of like the open space in the wheel wells...o_O and the lift I want is going to set me back $2500 or so... Don't have cash to do it all at once.

I hear ya, budget likes to play a big role in mods for most enthusiasts :(

Nothing wrong with a 265, I ran them for a year or so on a lift kit while saving my tire $. Now I need more tire because more gap lol.

I rubbed really bad with that set up with a lift, I imagine it will be worse without. I'm still on 265s tho.

Thanks for the info, was the rubbing just on plastic, mud flaps, liner, etc. or was it on pinch weld and cab mount as well?

    Interested as well.

Looking to fit some 3.5 BS 16x8 F5s on stock suspension 3G TRD OR. If anyone has done this how’d it go?

Mostly on the mud flaps but on a hard turn with a bump I'll still nick the cab mount as well
