Thanks. Posted a few posts when I first joined (early this year) but have been lurking since.
Health issues kept me either in hospital and then indoors from February through end of May. But now I can get out and actually go places, although still am weak and tire easily.
So, I eyed your trip to SNF the past couple of weekends, and sure that I’ll join sometime soon. But this past weekend I took the first trip with the family up to Bodie, Mono Lake, and got to use the RTT and hit a few 4WD roads on the way.

That's awesome that your health issues are getting squared away and you're starting to get out and around. The woods will heal your mind, body, and spirit brother... I believe that.

You are 1000% welcome on any of our trips. We're all about building up a strong group of people here, and getting out and doing shit. Whether it be on our trucks at Mod Days, or in the woods exploring.

That’s for certain. I am a botanist, and a big part of the reason I do what I do is that I occasionally get to drive and hike around to look for plants in remote places. That makes me feel whole more than anything else in life. I do everything else to support that or to help others to enjoy that.
...and driving technical roads is also just fun. And gets me to places that other botanists haven’t been.

You don't have to tell me what that's like. Getting sick is the pits, 2+ years since my event and I just recently have started feeling back to "normal". Welcome to TW, and disregard what Matt said about being an asshole, he's only kind of an asshole.

I agree, Matt’s the kind of asshole that has been well taken care of with a baby wipe. The kind that’s been lightly dusted with baby powder so he doesn’t stink too much. He’s the nicest asshole I’ve ever met

project #1 I need to finish the floor panels and shift boot, figure out these strange noises then drop the transfer cases and find the leak and fix that
Project #2 get boost and AFR gauge then add high boost pully, 5th injector, piggyback computer, 180 degree thermostat (maybe(probably) radiator) check and replace most fluids
Project #3 go out and break it all
Project #4 rebuild with lockers and 5.29's

shit this is expensive, anyone need their lawn mowed:facepalm:

Nothing as extensive (or as expensive) as that... but since we're making lists. I need to.
    Flush coolant system again.
    Check fluid level in T-case
    Change oil
    Get my A/C system re-charged
    Re-organize my tool boxes
Figure out a temporary solution to my temporary HAM handheld
Re-build the swing out on my rear bumper
Figure out what the heck I'm doing for a compressor for now (tired of not airing down)
    Bleed my brakes
Go through and torque check all the important stuff

Wash, buff, and wax the truck :anonymous:

    I'm sure there's a few things I'm forgetting.

Anyone know how to adjust a chainsaw (correctly) to run at altitutde?

My Stihl is a pain in the ass to get running up in the woods, and seems to lack power up there too. It starts on the first pull and runs like a champ down here at sea level.

    @Whitebutler ?

    I’m sure you’re fine.

    And since I don’t work for the USFS, I don’t think you’re a bad guy ;).

Glad that you’re getting back to normal. As long as things don’t relapse, I should recover and hope to feel the same way in a year or two. It’s rough when your life changes so drastically so quickly. But it also was the impetus for finally getting my rig. Gotta keep going with life.
