Welcome bro. I live off the 605 between the 10 and 210 freeway. I’ll let you know when I go on a trail soon. Haven’t been able to go off roading much due to work and having a 7 month old. But I’m sure I’ll plan something out soon.

Always exceptions to the rule, I did Miller Jeep Trail with a stock 04 but I would never recommend it to anyone else

Also you take the 'just send it' motto like few people I've seen, which is a blessing and a curse lol

:boink: that it is, I'm too used to having the 2wd haha. But hey I finally got sliders, oh and found a guy parting out a taco. Gonna have 2 oem cv axles for a couple hundred in a couple weeks.
Random question does it matter which side the cv axles go on or not at all?

Doesn’t Burns Canyon go through Rattlesnake? I’m doing this off my head so I could be wrong. I need to look at a map.

It’ll catch up to him eventually if he keeps it up. There are always exceptions but his truck will start to show wear more quickly and there will be that line that did t go his way.

He’s more likely to break shit on the trail too.

Okay, I'm back in front of a computer and not my phone.

When I've previously ran this route, we meet at Pappy and Harriet's in Pioneertown. From there, we took the roads through Rimrock which leads to you the bottom of the mountain via Burns Canyon Road.

Okay, Well depending on if anyone is coming with we can decide whether or not we want to take Burns Canyon or Rattlesnake Canyon.

It seems both of the canyons are just easy fire roads to get to Heartbreak Ridge.

I'm not sure where everyone is coming from and it take me pretty much the same amount of time +/- 15-20 mins to get to either place. So its all depending on the group and where they are coming from.

Thanks for your help @desertjunkie760  I cant remember if you said you wanted to tag along or not?

I’m on 1.25 spacers with my Ray10s. It rubbed on the street under articulation without the spacers, I gotta see how it does once we’re on a trail with them on.

I would have liked to join but Chris is correct. My truck is still not in a driving condition. It's been on the back burner due to another members truck I've been doing a relocation on. Customers come first!

Ok cool. If its just me and you it would be closer for us to start at Rattlesnake Canyon by like 30 mins and we could all meet in Lucerne Valley at fuel up and head to the trail head.

also if @eon_blue if you decide you want to come, it is actually shorter for you as well.

Oh I know, I'm just talking shit making myself laugh. I'm slowly learning to tone it down on the trails and let the 4wd do it's thing, I'm too used to having to picking a line that I can carry momentum through in my 2wd

yeah it can take some getting used to especially since you spent a few years in a Prerunner using speed and momentum to get you up and over things...even though it's still hard on the Prerunners, you didn't have nearly as many front end parts that could break.

4lo and slow is the way to go, at least on technical trails. Check your LBJs when you get a chance because I worry about them for you lol.

good, the only other brand I see people vehemently defend on here (occasionally) are the Moog 555's but I simply wouldn't take the chance. It's a shit design to begin with on Toyota's part so might as well use the best known part you can to replace it (OEM)

2nd gens are lucky they don't have to worry about it, but then again they have wheel bearing issues so :luvya:
