Colt Combat Commander

hey guys, so a buddy approached me today looking to sell his 1972 Colt Combat Commander in Satin Nickel chambered in .45acp. Doesn’t have original box and papers. It’s in very good condition but I haven’t got the slightest clue what these things are worth or what they go for so any help or input would be great. I don’t have any pics, sorry. Thanks

 

New ones go for $900-ish, satin nickel is uncommon, so I'd say around a grand for it, but there's a few on gun broker for around $650-ish

 

Quick google search yielded price ranges from about $700ish - $1200ish depending on if it is all original, overall finish condition, original box etc...

 

Yea that’s kind of what I gathered for the most part. It’s in great condition, but NO box or papers. Guessing between $850 and $1000??????

 

If it is a buddy, I would just ask him what he wants and go from there. You can always say no knowing the value range....

I don't sell guns to my friends at the ceiling price of the market. I go and find what one could get the same gun for and sell it to them at a better price. That's the point of a friend price. Just sayin...

No if this friend was in a money pinch and could lose the house or car and needed cash then id give him the highest price they are selling for Just as a way of donating money to him without him thinking he's getting any sort of handout.

 

Yea man, he doesn’t have 2 nickels to rub together. His wife stripped him of everything in their divorce. It’s pretty sad.
