I am looking for reviews on what other have put on their second gen's.What i am looking for is a very tight fit factory look seat cover that will protect the seats from minor spills, wear&tear and most of all dirty greasy hands (ie. mine) In the past i have purchased the local dealership offering for my 95 pickup and was a bit underwhelmed, the covers were not very form fit with loose fabric and were secured by straps that hardly survived initial installation. Then after a few years of arizona sun thru the windshield they are bleached and wearing thru. Yet the set i purchased for my moms '14 has held up ok to my younger siblings and a grandchild (though they dont fit much better)

What brand/style seat covers have you guys had good luck with?

^^ Indeed. Here is a good thread from last month. Lots of good ideas, with pictures as well. Read through this and see what you come up with: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/seat-covers-best-bang-for-your-buck.611012/

That thread struck me as odd... They were all praising a set of front seat covers that looked like shit and cost $320. If am to pay that much money especially just for the front seats I would expect they would at least look nice.

Apparently you didn't read the whole thread. There were at least 5 different brands being discussed at different price points. Which ones are you referring to?

Got mine from Seat Covers Unlimited. Fit good looks good and they have a 3/8 inch foam backing. Had them for 2 years and no issues no fading. You might also check out Sportsman Camo Covers. Just so you know camo is not your only option. I paid $510 for complete set including all headrests and center console lid.6DB3885C-7E4C-4541-95F3-CFBD9067E8F4.jpgB2504062-127F-421C-8BF5-15701F1110D4.jpg

Slightly off topic, buckhuntin, but how did you get the rear headrests to fold down? Is that an option on all DC rear seats?

...and at the absolute top end of the pricepoint/quality spectrum are Katzkins. Yes, they're spendy. Yes, they are an amazing fit and the material quality is the best I've seen. I already went through one set of Wet Okole's and I can honestly say that nothing about using wetsuit material really makes sense. Albeit, they do get rave reviews and plenty of people love them, however, when mine wore through in places after just three years I thought to myself "yea well, it IS wetsuit material...how durable is that going to be for everyday abrasion resistance?" If I had it to do over again, I would skip the Okoles and just go straight for Katzkins. In order to install them you basically remove factory cloth and reupholster your seats. It's time consuming and you've gotta really want it, but the finished product is unparalleled.

Despite all the rave I can’t say I like Wet Okole, other than for looks. Makes you get serious swamp ass when it’s the least bit warm and pretty intolerable when hot

Caltrend seems to be pretty nice too and they do breath which my Bartacts didn't and unlike the Bartacts its easy to move around while seated also

Edit ... I was also notified that Caltrend is sending me a new drivers seat bottom . One that don't have the extra cut out on the side. I thought that was kind of nice of them.
