    Agreed! i had the blower on like 2 days when i cut the snout because i wanted to swap to a smaller pulley later on. I believe if you want to go to 2.7" or smaller, you are required to cut the snout. Like others have mentioned, go with a quickchange, youll be glad you did when you want to swap sizes later on. Id also upgrade the fuel pump if it was me @australian hilux

    2.8" is the smallest without cutting.

    +1 to all of this, though the elevation where I live and the fact that I only downsized to a 2.7" pulley allow me to procrastinate on the fuel pump upgrade. :anonymous:

    Anyone? So I noticed today that if I hold a lower gear my coolant temp drops. Derale transmission cooler is run in series with the radiators built in trans cooler. Is the cooler too big? I would have thought a lower gear and higher rpm would increase heat.

    But its his coolant temps that are changing, and he has an external cooler inline.....I think that's the interesting aspect. Wonder what kind of tranny temps you need to be seeing to see a quantifiable difference in engine radiator cooling?

    Works for me

    Just downshifting going downhill. After that you can see the coolant temp needle visibly drop quite quickly.

    Just get it in any color and take the center section out of the pro and put it in your center section of the already color matched shell. But don't for the the stupid garnish that is extremely overpriced to cover the relocated sensor. If you have a buddy with a truck that wants a color matched shell that is an available TRD Pro color get that and sell him the shell and you use the center and all he has to get is the hood bulge and he is now color matched also.

    Thanks for the tips guys. I just removed the pulley today and I’m getting a new one next week. I’m going to have a crack of die grinding the snout myself as I’m not bad working with steel so should be able to get it done. Looking at going a 2.6 or 2.5” pulley. Also looking at a 255LPM high flow pump with regulator. Should do the trick. Then I have LPG being installed and then it’s off to the dyno to get tuned up to the max!! I’ll keep you all posted on how it all goes.

    Going to make up a jig that screws into the center screw holes and the other end has a spot to attach the die grinder and allows me to move it closer in to get the right depth. Saves me buying a snout cutter.

    What pulley? The OE one? It is a steel unit. A Qwickchange design is a two part billet piece. The hub and the pulley itself.
