New Tacoma, fair deal?

thanks man. i work for a dealership (not toyota) as well so i think that helps. i just did some research on what config and color i wanted and emailed all dealers in about a 100 mi radius. told them i work for a dealer and im not going to go in circles. i had already done my test drives as well so there was no need for the "when is the best time for you to come down to look" stuff. basically asked them for their best pricing for said truck. one of the closer dealers offered me the 34.8k. other dealers offered me 36.7k and they were further out. i asked them if they could beat 34.8k and they basically told me to take the deal that the closer dealer was offering.

 

TOYOGUARD? This is additional to the standard two year/24K service which is basically two oil service, four tire rotations, one air and one cabin filter. $699 is overpriced like crazy.

 

i got my 2019 ordcsb here in NC for 36,800 OTD. The sticker was 39,600 with all the options. I feel i got a good deal. They tried to get away with jipping me out of 1k on my trade but the art of the deal dictates to be able to walk away if they won't negotiate. The at first offered x for my trade. I wrote on the deal paper, x+3. Sales went back to the sale mgr and he came out and finally offered x +2. I took it.

i tol dhim, "you give me x+2 and i will buy this truck right now.". it was end of the month and was 8pm or so- they closed at 8pm. LOL. walked out with my brand new yota at about 10pm......

 

I thought sort of the same but didn’t want to come off rude in mentioning that. Kbb on my truck was 17-19k in excellent condition trade in value. My truck lost a small amount for a cracked tail light that I honestly had no clue was there until they showed me and it was on the inside which I thought was weird. Also lost some value being that my father in law smoked in it the ONE time he ever rode in it for more than 5 minutes and burnt a hole in my passenger front seat. Needless to say he isn’t allowed to smoke in my new truck

Anyway I ‘think’ I got around $4k+ over trade in value and they took some off sticker. If I do happen to keep it long term I’ll be glad I purchased since it has lifetime power train warranty. And trust me I won’t void it

 

I have to agree all the stuff on right side is not needed and over priced. But it is your money and your truck enjoy. To be honest if that stuff was on a truck I really wanted, I probably would pay, because when I decide to buy I want it NOW.

 

Same, think it was $33.2k before TTL.

 

How is a TRD OR without tech and premium $42.6k (should be closer to $35-38k)? Must be whatever was on the addendum inflating the MSRP. Glad you didnt pay for any of whatever was added on to inflate the price.

 

What’s ttl stand for?

 

Yep, my last 2 were tech and premium trucks (stickered somewhere in the $42k range) and paid $36k before TTL for both (after military rebate). Anything at 10% or better off MSRP is a good starting point.

Sounds like they gave you a fair number on your old truck that covered the higher price on the new truck. End result is you paid less sales tax as a result and have no hassle with selling your old truck on the side. I’d say based on that you did ok.

And still light years ahead of anyone that buys a ridgeline.

 

When I traded my loaded sport for my bare bones TRD OR the tax credit netted me $0 in sales tax lol (trade was $36k new truck $33k). Saved $3k then trying to di*k around with tire kickers selling private party.
