    Haha.
I had a Suzuki samurai in high school where the battery tie down rusted out. I hit a bump and the battery jumped and grounded out on the hood...

Left a couple of burn holes in the hood and only burned the main fuse luckily. And the stereo fuse.

Fuck man. That is the best example of an "action that should result in a thorough ass kicking" that I've heard in a long time. I hope something came back that person's way either directly at the beach or via random karma down the line.

My question isn't about the being stupid with the open end of the wrench, but wearing a ring while wrenching? Sorry, too many horror stories and pictures (plus a few in real life) of people wearing their ring while wrenching.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

She wasn't being stupid. She knows how to wrench. She works on pool equipment and the bolts were (are still lol) fused on with rust and corrosion. It was one of those typical, do what you gotta do to loosen it up things we all do, and it went sideways... actually, literally the wrench went sideways.

With as thin as the band is on her ring, and being gold, it would very likely break before doing damage to her finger. (Although I know what you're saying. I've gotten to the point I just always wear a silicone ring now)

I wasn't meaning she was being stupid. Just one of those "teachable" moments as they are called. I have done my share of damage to my hands wrenching on planes. Bloodied knuckles, cut finger tips, shocks that knocked me out. I understand how bad rust can get. I tend not to use combination wrenches anymore unless I have to.

Thanks man, been a long time coming. Stoked it’s finally coming together

Furniture is expensive. All I brought was what I could fit in my car when I shipped it, which turned out to be tools and kitchen supplies. Still have a little moving money leftover but I’ll probably have to dip into my mod money

    Camping around here...

I moved here from Utah just over years ago. Camping there is pretty easy (except for the super popular places of course) so heading out on a friday after work and coming back sunday was no big deal. We'd usually do that 1-2 times a month. Since moving here I've camped a total of one time at Sly Park for way more dollars than I care to admit. Wait scratch that. We did camp again at a site in Santa Cruz...where a house and porch light was about 50 yards away.

Is there such a place that someone can camp within 4 hours of San Jose that doesn't require 3+ months advance reservations? I just did some checking and Sly park is booked until early September. One spot in Henry Coe has an opening early August but looking at a pic of the site it looks like there is a house right next to it.

I know people don't like to share their primo spots, but is there anything within that time/distance from San Jose that doesn't require 2+ months of planning? Bathrooms are nice but not required.
