Yeah... What Bryan said... Much more elegant of a whiskey tater than I.

But cheers y'all. Fresh mow and now making some delicious future vitals courtesy of @Bigdaddy4760 ... Bacon is the secret ingredient.

Also I second Bryan in blaming @916carl

    So. Damn. Good.

So I bought a bottle of Nikka From the Barrel on line the other day. Payed too much for it, but what what are ya gonna do. Went to check the order status today and see another order listed in my account. When I click on it, I see an order for Peach Crown Royal (yuck) being sent to some guy in a flyover state. WTF?! Reach out to the seller and he said orders got crossed and it will be straightened out. $70 for peach CW? Yikes.

No, the Peach Crown Royal was $70. If I could buy Nikka FTB for $65/70 I'd buy many bottles.

The first time I saw CR Peach there was one on the shelf. Never heard of it or knew of it. Watched two girls race to grab it and almost fight... I laughed at the stupidity of it. Then realized I was bourbon hunting as well and would do the same :anonymous::rofl::duel:

One of the local grocery stores has a liquor isle with a small locked glass cabinet. They have the expensive things like JW Blue, but they also have the CR Peach locked up. First time I saw it I was like WTF? Then I found out it's one of those things that's popular with a certain crowd and apparently gets shoplifted quite a bit.

But yeah, if I see a bottle of Pappy on the shelf for $80 you bet your ass I'm fighting for it!

Cracked open this bottle of Compass Box Great King St Artists blend and I have to say it's pretty darn good for the price. Definitely not complex or challenging (you might call it an easy drinker, good for a summers day) but somehow it compels me to "have another". It's like Pringles - I can't have just one. It's very light in color - golden yellow - and it kinda dimmed my expectations. After my first dram I had to go back for another. It is sweet, but also has that quality that says I'm a SCOTCH whisky that I can't define. Now I want a third but I'm going to the driving range later tonight so another is verboten.

I forgot to take a pic when my WTF glass had something in it.

There is a Glasgow Blend, too, but it's a little more peated (not heavily, mind you) and has a sherry cask finish. At the price, even though you aren't much of a peat guy, it might still be worth a shot. That Artists Blend is a great recommendation, along with Monkey Shoulder, for an inexpensive scotch option.

    That mug is fantastic!

My brother used to LOVE Maker's Mark, until one New Years eve when he drank WAY too much and ended up using a small trash can in his room in a manner it was NOT intended. :puke:

He hasn't drank any of it since then, now mind you I am pretty sure he drank over 3/4s of the bottle during the party.
