Monthly So Cal Off-Road Run

Yep I've got Spidertrax 1.25" spacers on order for pickup at 4WP. Drove home this morning & it was a dream on the freeway. Had some scuff marks on the 3 o'clock compression bypass tube.

 

I read about the moogs too, thought about it but with LBJ failures on our truck I didn't want to cheap out. Also got a discount through work so

No worries, you guys do your thing. Seems like everyone's schedule is fit for Sunday.

 

With that being said, anyone doing anything in Saturday?

 

Thinking of hitting big bear early morning this Saturday. Nothing crazy, Holcomb Valley 3N16.
So far it’s just me and my buddy riding shotgun.

Fffffuck sorry @bprout I can't make it this Sunday...got a noon appt for a hospital tour with the wife to decide on where we're gonna do the birth. I totally forgot about it (didn't tell her that lol ) but she just reminded me tonight.

I'm free on Sat...I'd be up for some big bear action even if it's just easy stuff. Are you familiar with the Coxey Rd/3N14 trail? It starts in Hesperia and connects to 3N16 up in Big Bear, it's an easy dirt road and good way to get up the mountain via dirt without taking the highway. If you guys are interested I can post coordinates for the trailhead.

 

I'm game for Saturday for sure since I have nothing planned. I gotta head up to OC from SD to pick up a busy but that's not till about 8 or 9pm.

 

I’ve never gone up that way, I’ve only gone through green valley lake.
I’m down to try it out. As long as it’s not too crazy. Haven’t done much off roading myself.

 

Sounds good, I usually like to be on my way home pretty early in the day before sun starts going down

Man I am sad. I want to go with everyone, and I’ll even be in big bear on Saturday but I will be in training all day
Maybe I will drive the truck incase I get out early.

What's up! I'm interested in joining you guys on Saturday or Sunday depending on my schedule if that's cool. Been itching to get out on the trails again. Also, would be nice to meet more people from the forum.

 

It's not crazy at all, in fact I think Green Valley Lake is more of a challenge and it's just a fire road itself. Coxey Rd is just a 10+ mile fire road from the desert up into Big Bear, it's 2wd friendly year round except for maybe in the winter when there's snow.

Green valley lake has gotten pretty washed out from this year's storms from what I remember, it was pretty well rutted out a couple months ago but maybe it's gotten better.

 

I'm game for whatever. I have no issues turning on my 4x4 and having some fun or just cruise around.

 

Looks like we are planning to meet up at 10am in the Hesperia area. You in? Seems like there's 4 of us so far.
