    About halfway done...
What is the torque for the U bolts? I see the stock is supposably 37ftlbs but that seems really light.
My guess would be closer to 80ftlbs:notsure:

80 lbft is what I recommend with my kits.

    Yes, 37 is too light

April 22, 2019 Update (pics in post #1):
    1. A kick out on the plate has been added for air bump use, comes on every option
    2. Strength bends added, plate is now 3/8" instead of 1/2"
    3. Option 4 the pedastal is now bolt-on and shorter so it doesn't steal bump travel as much as other brands.

Awesome kit, Eric, thanks for your hard work on the redesign. Just ordered mine and will post an update within the week. Cheers!

Some features of a competitor U-bolt flip plate that I see as issues:
    A. A very large center hole (plus elongated holes) does not engage the leaf pack center pin nut, potentially allowing plate to slide and lose alignment. OEMs use a small diameter hole here.
    B. Scalloped out sides reduces strength of plate and potentially allows bending

Installed the kit today! Here's some photos. I'm not a huge fan of zinc plated bolts, so I primed and painted them with rubberized undercoating.

Out with the old, in with the new.

Cut about 1-3/8" off the ends to fit stock leaf springs.

Very happy with the quality. Bump stops feel great. Thanks again!

Awesome install job, thanks for the great pics and choosing Archive. Good idea on coating the ubolts, increases the corrosion resistance nicely

FYI, I now have an version of the U-bolt plate that works with 3.5" axles you might find on a Diamond or 9", Still has hole spacing for 60mm spring!

Happy NYE. I’m running into a snag trying to install this kit.

I’m running Fox 2.0 with remote resis on the rear, but the resis are currently clamped to the shock body. My issue is the “ear” on the flip kit plate looks like it will contact the resi once the rear compresses. I turned the plate around to put the “ear” towards the middle of the truck and a corner of the plate looks like it may make contact as well. Sorry I didn’t take pictures before putting everything back together.

My first thought is now I need to mount the resis on the frame, giving me plenty of clearance. Am I missing anything else with this install?

    @ARCHIVE Thanks!

Message me pictures, I need pics to understand. Sounds like you have the resi towards the axle and that does not sound right. Do you have the shocks on the wrong side of the truck?

I just snapped a few for Accutune who is also helping out. Unfortunately I put the old hardware back on so you’ll have to use a little imagination.

With the plate sitting on the leaf pack looking down the leaf springs, you can see where the plate will be conflict. 814DA018-2CD6-4D37-B870-4E1BF887DF97.jpg

Looking from the rear, I also tried flipping the plate around. It’s tough to see, but you can just barely see the resi behind the shock body68D61F59-D93F-455E-96A0-2BAE099F79FB.jpg

When I spoke with Accutune they suggested potentially cutting the plate to fit. They may have a different solution once they see the photos though.
My issues seems to be primarily a width issue with the resis mounted on the shock body.

Thanks for pics, I need a picture of the point on the plate, the first batch were too close to shock.
    There are 2 problems:
    1. The ubolt flip plates must be installed with pointed side outward
    2. The resi cannot face the axle, it will jam into the axle during compression, I think the shocks have to be rotated 180deg or switched to opposite side of vehicle.

    Fix those issues and report

Awesome thanks for the advice. I think you’re correct at both points and spinning the shocks 180* shouldn’t be a issue.

This will become a post NYE hangover project tomorrow or Thursday. I’ll keep the updates coming though.

Got it all installed this morning! It was simply a matter of loosening the top nut on the shock and spinning it 180*, then tweaking the resi location for clearance. I think I will look into mounting them on the frame soon but this is good for now.
