Just curious to hear some recommendations.

Ideally looking for long life vs. light leg workout vs heavy truck. Truck is SC'd but it's only really used to merge on the hwy, climb steep N. AZ mnts & pass big rigs in said mountains.

My LCE Pro Comp has about near shit the bed at 35k. And I was never a fan of it. :turdemoji:

    TIA.

Oem or aisin unless your going performance. I’ve installed plent of oem or aisin (toyotas oem, at least on the newer cars) clutches in peoples cars

Oh. For supercharged I would look into the marlin clutch. Didn’t notice you had the blower

Thanks for all the comments guys!

A few years ago is was between the Marlin or the LCE clutch. Wish I'd gone with the Marlin..

The SC is just for getting Big Bertha up to speed...

I'm near GVW. You guys think that the Marlin would hold up a little better in that regard? It all looks like oe except the pressure plate.

The OEM clutch is good if you're looking for a long lasting, reliable everyday clutch. But for supercharged and/or wheeling trucks with a lot of weight, bigger tires, etc. it's not up to the task. Mine is way too light feeling and the heavier my truck gets the more annoying it is to try and work the stock clutch.

I'm going Marlin next time I need one, hopefully they stay in stock for awhile. They were out of stock for what felt like forever until recently.

Do you have the LCE clutch in right now? What don't you like about it?

edit - just saw you mentioned it in the OP. Damn, only 35k miles...I've had my OEM one for the last 55k and it's still holding up, but it's not very easy to work with (hardly bites at all, but its always felt that way).

I guess it's a "performance" clutch. Hense the low mileage (from what the webz tell's me).
I find it nearly impossible to feather without slipping it. It grabs immediately. No inbetween. The pressure plate has seemed to get weaker a few months after install.

Maybe I botched the install? Didn't break it in properly? Don't know..

My model of truck wasn't ever gifted with a manual, maybe I installed the master cylinder or clutch pedal slightly off?

I'm a big fan of their #38 flywheel thou.

Anybody have any other recommendations? Marlin's out of stock, and I'm not sure how long mine's going to hold up to justify waiting..

    OME and worth every penny.
Call. It may have been a mistake that it showed in stock and they have no intention of ever having it again. They prob. don't sell many.

    Stock-ish
Marlin is out of stock on most things, most of the time.

I'd just throw an Aisin clutch in and call it a day. $230 with a nice light pedal and soft engagement. I've got duals so I'm not having to beat my clutch in the rocks much but it's held up fine for the last few years.

That's what drives me crazy about the stock clutch is the light feel, wasn't so bad when my truck was stock but with it being heavier now the stock clutch doesn't have any grab or bite to it, sucks even more when wheeling. Twin sticks would be awesome

Marlin is so busy on developing 3rd gen parts like that new MarRack steering rack and long travel kit, I don't think they give much focus to their 1st gen stock these days

That's the best part of a stock clutch. Fuck having a left leg workout all day, as long as it locks up solid, I want the softest pedal possible. Heavy pedal, short engagement, race style clutches are awful in a DD/wheeling truck.

Something with a bit more grab would be ideal for me, I can barely even get the truck to pull forward when feathering the clutch right now on the street. But yeah I wouldn't want something too heavy for a daily driver as well.

I had a Dodge Challenger rental with the big hemi v8 and a 6 speed once and the clutch on that thing was like trying to push a cinder block across the floor with your foot with every shift, not enjoyable at all to drive.

Well...it was fun to drive not gonna lie. But wouldn't want that feel every day

Marlin wasn't OOS on the clutch itself. Just the alignment tool. And they absolutely refused to sell me the kit without that tool (Even though I still have that tool from the last clutch job), and told them on that fact.

They said they'll have the alignment tools BIS latter this workweek.

Edit: Looks like they shipped out the clutch on Friday. Strange. They were adamant about not sending it out, I wonder if they dug up one of the tools?
