I have the Viper on my 2Gen Sport. Love it nice on cold mornings and Hot summer afternoons at softball tournament with Granddaughter, Warm and clear window in winter, cool on hot Central California afternoons. 20 minuet time limit and if you break in and try to drive off. the second you put foot on break/clutch to try and drive off it kill the engine and set alarm off. This thing wasn't plug and play. Found a bunch of wires and T-Tap under dash when do some wiring over the weekend, previous owner had it installed.

I had Compustar with Drone Mobile installed this past winter. Absolutely love the setup. Can start my truck from any distance. The phone app and Apple Watch app work flawlessly.

I hadn’t thought about the watch app; being able to lock/unlock/start my truck from just my watch sounds awesome.

I didn’t give any thought to it either. I was more excited about the phone app. Best part it gives you notification of whether the vehicle started or not.

You dont live in the Desert huh ????? , try getting into a vehicle after sitting outside in 120° heat .Having remote start with the AC on is nice as the vehicles interior has been cooled down dramatically

I had the Viper alarm and Smart start module installed at a car audio shop

Looks like the 05-09 is automatic transmission only? Any options for us with a MT?

There are options out there for MT remote starts but personally I believe it's an incredible stupid idea. You'll always be leaving the trans in neutral while parked, doing it right requires cutting into your trucks wiring harness in a pretty significant way, and even then there's still potential for something to go wrong.

... theres a thing called a parking brake, and I have a flat parking lot, so no risk of rolling away. I don't need to always remote start it, so I don't need to always leave it in neutral. Winters are cold here.

The solution I quoted, for a 05-09 auto, is fully plug and play, no cutting into harness. Seeing if there is an equal plug and play for MT to avoid cutting into the harness. Which, if there isn't a solution that is PnP, it honestly doesn't scare me in the least to hack a harness if done correctly.

Not a stupid idea in the least to me.

I know some people might be anti best buy but you can have a viper system or similar installed for like $300ish there. They say free install but inevitably there are some extra parts that are required.

    Indeed!
This was my truck a couple weeks ago...

Under a tree. And sadly, the A/C was on the fritz.
Most of the major brands are all owned by one company; directed electronics.
I bought a Clifford 2 way for my 06 when it was new. Still works, and it is very nice stepping into a warm or cool cab as the season warrants.

    Edit: corrected erroneous statement.

I see that you guys don'y have a plug and play kit for a 2010 Tacoma. Are you in the process of making one?

Worth it to have a starter, most installers can do it in their sleep anyways its really not that big of a deal to have it hardwired. never had any issues on all my vehicles with compustar

That is not true about all major brands. Compustar is not owned by them.

Fat Bob's lift kit, 30's on stock steelies, lunchbox locker in the rear, and a ton of other general mods and additions to help the utility of the truck for my particular uses.
I know this may be a strange question, but are there any compatible options if you have the rs-3000 installed? Or do you have to remove it ?
