The 'compensation' is that they're eating the difference. That's all they should need to do really.

They told me there are no instructions with the AAL which I didn't think they'd need instructions (none came in the box), then to bolt on the UCA's they had to do it in some weird way. I got all my stuff from Head strong which is what 90% of people here do so I have no idea why these guys are having such a hard time. It's a specialty shop too, not just some tire shop.

I'm thinking he probably means as far as the inconvenience of time. Which they offered to give me a ride if I needed to go anywhere or order me a sandwich so they've done what's necessary. Eating the price difference is one thing, but now my whole day is gone. I'm lucky I took the whole day off. I nearly scheduled an appointment with one of my customer's for this afternoon but decided against in case something like this happened lol.

No it's just the angle of the picture. The dealer installed it so I'm sure its right.

Exactly. So many people here are entitled and demand the world when something doesn’t go their way. They are eating the difference which is actually huge. That’s a pretty big hit. I have heard UCAs require a little finess to replace.

nobody was demanding the world, but if a job takes twice as long to complete, and there's no significant issues from the truck that caused it, then it's in their best interest to offer something to show they care about their customers and keep repeat business/reputation. even something as simple as the offering a ride/lunch goes a long way.

No entitlement here, just a belief in peopling doing the right thing. It's not huge to eat the difference actually. I could not imaging being quoted MULTIPLE TIMES by multiple people for a 3 to 400 dollar job, then being handed a bill for $800. It would be robbery. Expecting the right thing to be done is not the same as being entitled.

Traveled to the Toyota Dealer, radio completely shit the bed. They found a support beam in the dash cracked that severed the wires. No clue how that happened. Then installed a shifter extention that soothes my shoulder, on long drives. Worked out well.

I agree it sucks but when modifying things there’s always the small chance something may not go as perfectly as imagined. Glad you’re so patient and hopefully you love the outcome!

I'm honestly not being a smart ass when I say that the difference is that the black molded plastic grille surround will never chip, revealing the chrome. That's why I payed the $90

Edit: I assumed you meant the grille surround and not the whole grille. In either case, I think that's why some would prefer to replace than to plastidip.

It comes off clean for me. But it hasn't been on there too long. I figure I'll see how it holds up over summer and it does, then it will last forever

My feelings are quotes are the set price (mostly and never if the customer changes something). I keep thinking as a remodel example- opening a wall but not knowing the extent of damage until it’s open. But I think in those instances it shouldn’t be referenced as a quote in the beginning but rather an estimate (which I feel can change if more work is needed). So wording is definitely important. But i don’t feel compensation is necessary, yes it took longer but as long as it was done and at the agreed price then it’s one of those things of it is what it is. It was nice of them to offer lunch. And they actually did take a big hit- man hours add up plus profit margin on those man hours for the shop, overhead, the lost bay for another job to make money on. There’s more too it is all I’m saying
