Credits cards with 0% APR for 12-18 months....then balance transfer to another card with a special for 12-18% 0% APR....then balance transfer the balance transfer to another 0% APR 12-18 month >.>

Just kidding of course. We did do the whole balance transfer thing for our roof though. Between the cash back and then the interest/investment returns at the time it was way better than pulling money out for cash. And of course had no issues paying it off within the time frame for 0%

I thought mine were bad till this last trip with dying uni balls on the UCA. Driving wasnt bad but backing it up in campgrounds....pretty sure the whole campground knew we were there. Loudest and most annoying squealing every time i moved the steering wheel.

The Calcium Chloride they were spraying on the roads did a number on both the Dakars and the uniballs though. The dakars just squeaked. The Uniballs screamed for dear life till they got cleaned out. And man when driving over that stuff while its wet makes quite an interesting mud......hard as crap

Nah. Sometimes thought I think about how much faster I would retire and/or how many cool toys I could have if I lived in state with cheaper housing. The equity I had from selling my old house could have bought a nice house in NC fully paid for.

But then I'd live in the south again and there's no way in hell you'd convince me to move back to North Carolina or Georgia.

Me either. I'll have my house paid off before I can retire. I'll be able to sell it and take the money somewhere it will go so much further. The endless gray as a retiree has got to be rough too.

Right on. I’ll probably hit a couple sections between cashmere and rim rock lake here pretty soon. Was it pretty dusty last week?

Yes, dusty. There was two of us and we took turns with the lead so one wasn't always in the dust.

Unless you're trying to complete all of the sections to say you have, I would cut out the section between cashmere and wenatchee. It's a relatively straight forward and uneventful section. Other than the beehive slides section 3 had some views but was uneventful challenge wise too. Some great views tho, including where we camped on a cliffside.

Right on, yeah I have kicked around that area a bunch between cashmere and Eburg. I think we may take a different route there.

How was the chunk between Eburg and Rimrock lake? I haven't been out that way for a while

There's really no other location I'd like to live in the U.S. I was stationed in the south east for the army (hot and humid), and the last 5 years I go to WI pretty much annually for work and -30 temps are no fun. Bay area is a wreck and so-cal is too damn hot.

Oregon is a close second, as it was the first state I lived in as a kid, but I just prefer it up here.

Alaska or Idaho is where I’d like to be, I’m a born and raised Washingtonian, most of my “hate” for this place is because of king county

20+ hours of sunlight (and 24 of light) was an odd thing in AK. Both awesome and weird at the same time. We had quite a few nights where both the gf and I were saying "o its probably like 9pm" and it would actually be 1030-11. But was cool not needing a flashlight our entire trip. The gf did the whole "hardly any daylight" thing for work and said it really wasnt to bad for her. Since she works inside it was pretty much the same as down here since even I go to work when its dark and get little to not time after work for light.

The gf pretty much got a job offer when she left. I just dont know if i could handle where she was lol. I HATE flying and its a town of ~2k that is off the road system. That and well internet access sucks to say the least lol. But the hiring person there was looking for federal jobs and contacts for me apparently lol.

Keep in mind that I'm an absolute off road novice so ymmv, but it was fun. Ruts, rocks, a mmud. There's a muddy section thats getting really rutted before you descend towards rimrock. It's probably the only thing that anyone would consider mildly difficult, as in a Subaru with the right tires could probably do the rest of the BDR but might not make it out of the hole.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Wife doesn't like the weather in WA, I won't move back to Oregon until they change their military retirement pay taxation. CA won't ever get my tax money. I am looking at NV, TX or FL right now. AZ was on the list until I read that they tax military retirement pay as income.

If it weren't for the wife though, WA would be where I ended up because of the job opportunities I would have had.
