yes, technically you can do it whenever you want. Although we don't recommend it.

 

Without going into too technical detail, why?

I ask because the transmission seems to learn it's annoying ways after a few thousand miles. No real way around it at the moment?

 

Because some trucks run kind of rough during the initial learning phase for fuel trims, ignition tricks, KCS, etc.

 

Makes sense.

 

Even some M/T trucks "degrade" after some mileage is put on a particular file. Most notably the throttle goes soft. Anyway, c'mon 2.0

 

Just over here waiting patiently for the rev hang fix...

@OVTune If I go from 1.05.1 87 perf to 87 base or 93 perf etc do I have to reset LV and Auto again?

My vehicle rode very harsh for almost 2 tanks after the initial change from 1.05 so I would like to avoid if possible.

 

Can't help it, I get the feeling the 2.0 tune is going to be really fun to

 

Be a nice guy and pass the dongle and cable along to the next owner with a note in the center console like I did. Then help them setup the software and train them on how it works... I got a new RAM. Got tired of the gear hunting and always screaming to get power even with the tune. Not knocking ovtune and Mat. But tuning the Tacoma is like starting with Mayan and translating to Mandarin versus starting with a High School diploma and becoming a English professor.

 

IMHO, DTC and LV Reset is freaking stellar.

It has made 87 FOB feel completely different. I did a battery disconnect the first time. The Resets were way better.

Haha just cut your losses aye. Man I just hate to loose out on $700 bucks for something I gave a gamble. I’m just over this and want to buy a Truck.

 

The more I drive it, the more I am feeling it. This is way to go. I am almost feeling that I'm over 87 Base. The low end is what I was missing.
