    In the category of things no one really wanted to hear about...I think the car shown is supposed to be based on the car driven by Jo Siffert, which was owned by a man named Rob Walker. Formula One had just gone from a 1.5 liter engine formula to a 3 liter formula and none of the existing teams had had an engine that big...except for Ferrari, and they were always squabbling with h FIA. Some enterprising privateers, like Rob Walker, realized that Maserati had a 3 liter sports car engine, so the Cooper-Maserati was born. If you watch the movie Grand Prix, whenever you see the white “Yamura” car that James Garner Drive in the action shots, it was one of the privateer Cooper-Maseratis painted white.
