I mix my own preworkout together and it’s just creatine, beta alanine, and caffeine. I use EmergenC packets for flavor. Then I have Whey (post workout) and Casein (before bed) protein powder

    Gotcha.

Monthly, all the supps add up cost wise.

    Opinion on this—-

Replace breakfast(egg white low carb tortilla taco with turkey and potato) with a protein shake OR add protein shake to breakfast?

I didn’t have insurance last year. I had a couple steroid treatments. $1,200. $400 for my blood tests.

Even with insurance it was still $150/mo in Copays for PT after my foot and shoulder surgeries.
I saw the full bill for my PT at one point and about shit myself. The next time I went in he asked if I wanted to ice my shoulder after. I was like “hell no! That costs like $55”. He didn’t believe me so I brought in my bill. He about shit himself over what the business charges vs what he gets paid! Lol!

And national healthcare doesn’t mean shitty docs. I withdrew my applications to med school because every doctor I shadowed told me not to be a doc. A lot were quitting soon to pursue a path in public health to fix healthcare. So I just went that route. A lot of docs are miserable in our current system. One doc I was in school with quit the month her loans got paid off.

Annnd we don’t need to raise taxes to pay for it... we could cut plenty other places... jus sayin. I think the bigger challenge is getting politicians to work together to model an effective policy. It can take decades to actually write a good system... would be nice if we started now...

I agree with the cutting in other places to put money towards healthcare. But everyone just wants more and to not manage the budget. That’s what sucks

    Back to bodybuilding talk tho

Ordering a stack from my fav Kaged Muscle.

Wanting to give Julian Smith a shot with his new supps but it’s low caffeine and I need my caffeine in the morning lol

Mixing my own preworkout is really cheap. Probably like 10 cent per serving, probably less...

Protein is still “cheaper” than consuming the same amount via food, and a lot simpler than cooking and prepping it all

myprotein.com for protein. Good prices (when they have a sale for 30% or more which seems to be always)

Bulksupplements.com for the rest. That’s where I got mine from with recommendation from @ThunderCookies i just do the beta alanine and creatine. Don’t need the caffeine with the amounts I consume

You take X grams of beta alanine and X grams of creatine and X grams of caffeine and mix it together. Boom. You have yourself your own mixed pre workout. I’ll go find the last PM @ThunderCookies sent me with the dosages he uses. Stand by

Edit: I use 2g of Beta and 4g of Creatine per serving in mine. I usually mix together 12 servings at once bc that was the easiest scoop I calculated to a tablespoon for ease. I have a scale too but it doesn't register those light weights very well...

I don't drink coffee or much soda, so the caffeine hits good in my pre. I do drink a Monster or Reign if my workout is a long one, usually on the weekends...

Yep. Bulksupps is where I get my ingredients :stirthepot:

If you pick your favorite preworkout and look at the ingredients label you can pick out what you need to brew your own. Most of them will have 'fillers' and you really have no idea what you're taking. Something like 'Energy Complex' or 'Energy Matrix' and it's probably just sugar and horse semen...

You can buy the individual ingredients and mix it yourself. I do like 5g Creatine, 4g Beta, and 200mg Caffeine and I'll shake up 12 or so servings at a time and mix in the emergenc. Any food scale that measures in grams will work...

As for your breakfast, I wouldn't sub the protein shake for the meal, but I would consider drinking protein as soon as you're done working out. I drink mine either in the locker room while I am changing or while I'm stretching/foam rolling post workout (depends on the day).

Ordered. Pricey for sure but his ingredients and character are always worth the extra penny IMO.

It’s bed time but while I go through the stack, I’ll research on making my own pre to save some change

Also will be drinking the protein immediately after the workout. Kinda tired of this plateau so time to change it up for the gains.

April 8, 2018 is when that message is from. I still use that mix ratio. I usually mix it up with 8oz orange juice to kill the acidic flavor.

You guys must be amateurs LOL

I pulled out an old knee brace I had and wore that working in the yard yesterday. It really helped me not crawl around and basically served as a knee sleeve when squatting and helped me stand up. Hopefully it's a cheap cure.
