It seems likely; I've cut literally hundreds of cords with my Husky 51, but it spends 8+ months a year just sitting in the shed. I've never replaced anything other than wear items (bars, chains, spark plugs) and one chain tensioner since I bought it when I was 16. The only thing I do to 'winterize' it is to run it out of gas, and then in the spring the only thing I do to get it running again is to check the gap on the plug and fuel it up. :notsure:

I think running it out of gas might be the key, most people I know try stabilizer or “pure” gas and seem to have issues over the years. I’ve never personally owned one before yesterday and that was half the reason. Figured let someone else deal with that hassle.

I used to do a full 'winterization' on everything, but at this point I just run the small engines out of gas. The boat and the '69 still get stabilizer in the cylinders, carbs, and fuel tanks, but my collection has grown to the point that it would take me all weekend to do a full 'winter prep' on all of our gas motors. Two saws, two string trimmers, boat, truck, the gas mower we use twice a year, generator, rototiller, etc.

I like to fog all my small engines. I also use the premix non ethenol gas from Lowe's for my weedwacker and lawnmower. Snowblower just gets stabilizer and stabil fogging oil.

I run premium with Seafoam & synthetic marine 2 stroke oil in the saws, trimmers and boat, just because of the RPMs they run at. The rest of it gets regular gas with Seafoam and seems happy enough.

Edit- Like I said, I used to give everything a full winterization, but I haven't noticed any difference with the small engines between full winterization and just running them dry. If anything, they're easier to start in the spring because they don't have to cough out the fogging oil first. :notsure:

Probably not much out that way. It's coastal. Very flat and lots of marshes.

I have no problem driving north a bit. We are also going to be visiting Mass and Maine.

Inland there is definitely stuff. Check out exploring new Hampshire forums. Sign up and just ask if anyone is going out or would be willing to take you on some easy trails.

I lived up there a million years ago. My son just graduated from HS and for his present, he wanted a father son trip up north.

No real plans. We are staying in an AirB&B in Salem, but we will be there for a few days.

So not like Baxter State Park or anything, then.

    Great minds...

You guys could also head up to the kancamangus in NH. Could find a small hole, do some zip lining, or it's been warm enough that the swimming hole at the lower gorge might be a hot 67* by now

Nice! Where are you headed? I’m in the process of trying to put something together for our first trip. So far the KOA in Plymouth looks good

Dan, check out Pine Acres Campground. It's near Worcester.

Also check out Cape Cod Campingresort and Cabins down in Falmouth.

Both of those are nice places
