The one I mentioned in the above post # 59 was purchased via DriveTrain America...now with about 11K miles on it and humming along just fine..Does have the Toyota
name embossed on the rubber if that counts for anything.

There are a lot of Chinese companies on Amazon that 'shadow sell' crap under brand name (especially dash cams). The fact that it didn't say "Toyota" on it means you didn't get the part being discussed here.

BTW, to say Spicer is shit and Toyota is good is kind of duplicitous. Toyota doesn't make carrier bearings.

The entire 2nd gen and 3rd gen driveline is marked spicer.

Toyota uses hundreds of different suppliers for things like ball joints, pulleys, belts, gaskets, bearings, etc... Denso, Spicer, Aisin (Transmissions), Yamaha (heads on some of their performance cars), etc...

Yeah I was just agreeing with your point. To say that spicer is crap, is dumb. Because its an oem supplier. He probably just got ripped by an Amazon seller. Its why I dont order auto parts off amazon.

Who knows, not worth the risk to me, lesson learned for being cheap on my end.

Sorry the OEM bearing. Learned my lesson with aftermarket drivetrain parts, OEM only here, I highly doubt Spicer is the OEM supplier of the carrier bearing.

No.spicer makes shit, their joints suck as well.

It's funny "I must have been scammed by Amazon" while this thread is a link to an "oem" CB being sold on amazon....

And Dana makes the crap frames that rust out on the entire model line. Toyota needs to get back to Japanese OEM suppliers.

:rolleyes:Dana/Spicer only the largest/most reputable supplier of driveline components on the planet, everything from Heavy Trucks, big rigs, 4x4, race car etc uses there stuff. Believe what you want. You're not exactly changing the opinions of the many other happy users of that particular CB in this thread/on this forum. Sorry you got hosed by buying from Amazon, which isnt exactly a go to place of mine for ordering auto parts.

Yep, and that's when guys started getting driveline vibes all the time where the "solution" was a one piece driveshaft.

Also, the Spicer 1330 joint in the second gen and up is total junk compared to Toyota u-joints. Same cap diameter as a 1310...:puke:Toyota u-joints are stronger than 1350's too because of the yoke design.

F250/350 and Dodge 2500/3500 guys will munch a set of OEM Dana 60 Spicer balljoints in 60k on stock sized tires too....

That statement contradicts itself on so many levels. You do know the entire 2nd gen drivetrain is marked Spicer, right? If you go to your dealer and ask for a ujoint for an 08, its gonna be a spicer part in a Toyota box.

Sighs...yes I know it was entirely from Spicer instead of Toyota and that is why it is junk.

Toyota designed and manufactured u-joints are a completely different design than the Spicer 1330 crap that Toyota spec'ed on the second and third gen trucks.

Yes, first gen u-joints, which are Toyota u-joints. There's no part number that anyone remembers, just that they are Toyota u-joints...

Hmm well if that's the case then I guess I'll just get a yota CB after all but I'll just wait till this one blows up first haha. I've got 190k on this one and I've had countless shops tell me I need to replace it over the years and I've just said "meh..."

There is no Toyota CB. It's Spicer. The one in the link is a Toyota stamped and OEM part despite what some people are telling you.

If it dosen't have"Toyota" stamped in it, return it but that appears to have only happened to the guy who thinks a Spicer CB bought from Toyota is superior quality to a Toyota CB bought from Spicer. They. Are. The. Same. Thing.

just curious if anyone has taken a pic of both the spicer CB and the "Toyota" CB side by side to show the markings, etc?

Edit nvm there is a post a couple pages back. The markings look different to me :notsure: but who knows if a new toyota part would have the same markings as the old one.
