Hello all I finally have my dream truck 2018 SR5 2x4. I have stock tires. And the funny thing is my wife said to me last night that truck needs bigger tires in my heart skipped a beat. So I think I’m going to put a spacer on the front and aftermarket some type of black wheels with a Nitto or toya tires. What size can I get away with thanks for your help

    Welcome,

Just so you know, you are gonna get blasted by some “holy rollers” here that will tell you spacer kits are crap and you’re an idiot,blah,blah....

Spacer kits are fine unless you plan on using your truck to rock crawl or other extreme off roading. If you are like me and it is a 90/10 truck (even 60/40) then the spacers are fine.
It is YOUR truck, build as you see fit.

As far as tyres, how much higher are you gonna go, I’ve got a 3inch spacer/spring lift on mine and settled on 265/75/16 Falken AT3W tyres.

285s will rub a bit, so trimming is gonna be needed. Now, if you can find a tyre in 80/85 it will be taller not wider.

    Hope this helps a bit.

I realize the only way to get a larger wheel and tire is to use a leveling kit. I work in the automotive field and we install level kits on
Or ram 2x4 and 4x4 with no issue. But if someone wants to advise on wheel and tire combo size i’m All ears, just want a wide stance look. It will never go off road

BIGC2029 thanks for your help. Don’t know what the c stands for but I could guess and it isn’t on a male.

St.Germain I want no poke. Are you 2x4 and if so did you use a spacer or running stock?

    Big Caleb obviously.

OP. Your wife said it needs bigger tires. So dude, 285s. I have a soccer kit in mine. It was an extremely rough ride in the beginning but now it’s better. Unsure what your budget is. I did a 2.5 leveling kit with Nitto 275s with 18inch Fuels. I suggest you do 17s though. If I could go back I’d do 17s with same size tire. So I can get more tire and less rim.

Lots of ideas on lift & tires/wheels and it really depends on what you want to do with this truck. There are a lot of great ideas and feedback in this forum.

One thing I can say for sure is keep that wife, in that department you gotta Pro bro!

    Like, so many.
You don't need any work to go up one tire size. You can run 265/75/16 completely stock with no issues.

This is good advice and very cost effective but you will need wheel spacers or zero offset wheels to get a wider stance. Went with 4Runner Pro 17 x 7 wheels (common choice, too common?), and Bridgestone Revo 3s in 265/70-17. No lift, no spacers, result is no tire rub. More aggressive looks and stance, improved handling with minimal weight increase, and great off road until things get rad. Tires are flush with outside of fender flares.

This is a very safe choice, and you could go with an even more road oriented tires being that "it will never go off road". Some have been surprised or disappointed with the weight increase from large off road oriented tires on a mostly road truck in terms of slowed acceleration, lower mpg, need for re-gearing. Looks vs. drivability, your choice. Reading those posts on this forum helped immensely with my choice, hope this info helps with your choice.

Yeah, I've got 0 offset wheels. It's a good look.

OP dont go too big and wide unless you are planning to regear. The last thing we need is another thread on low mpg and not enough horsepower with big tires.
