Yes, the reality is that someone has valued it at that.

    Like, so many.
Yeah, I'd let a good friend borrow my truck. I'd trust my good friends to look after my kid. So yeah, borrow anything you need.

You still haven't answered this question. Are you able personally drive the truck and help out?

    That's what I would do.

    586000 to be exact.

I loan out my trailers to close friends. Sometimes it just isn’t practical for someone to have flatbed trailer, but has the funds to easily have one.

I would tell my own mother hell no.

Probably 85% of the dump trips in my life have ended in flat tires from running over dump shit.

Yes, no brainier. A good friend can always use my stuff. I would help him load it up, take it to the dump, and then have a beer together. Not tooting my horn, but we all help each other all the time, takes a village. Overall, our Tacom'as are trucks, that like to work and is designed to haul shit. Don't be a wad

My mom let her friend borrow her car while she was visiting. She totaled it. Everyone was fine. But we learned a very valuable lesson about insurance in our state. It follows the car, not the driver.

My parents had pemco insurance. I was young and still on their insurance and had a speeding ticket. After the accident my parents were dropped. New insurance rates were substantially higher than they were up to that point. The car was like 8 years old, but only had like 34k miles. My parents got absolutely screwed on the check to reimburse for it.

I don't let anyone drive my vehicles for any reason anymore. I go back to this lesson we learned and they don't ask again.

A close friend? Sure, or just offer to go do it with him and help the guy out.

Without a doubt, no! Insurance follows the vehicle, not the driver. If you let someone borrow your vehicle and they wreck it, the claim goes on your insurance policy. That means your rates increase. Not worth the risk. Like others have mentioned, adivse your friend to rent a uhaul for $20.

I guess I'm kinda weird. I've never asked to borrow someone's truck. I ask can you help me move this thing. I feel weird asking to borrow someone's car.

For example when I bought a giant toolbox before I had a truck, I asked a friend if he could come help me pick it up and unload at my house. After I got a truck, my brother asked can you come help me pick up this wood?

Although my dad has let me borrow his truck in the past. Probably because he didn't want to help do whatever I was doing.

I’d loan it out. I also understand why others wouldn’t.

If he’s a good friend he’d understand if you said no.

    A close friend wouldn't hesitate. It's a non-collectible truck.

    Exactly.

Interesting enough, I just had a phone call from a buddy on this very topic. His complaint was insurance rates after his daughter wrecked his truck, no money was paid out (she hit a light pole, concrete part), and his insurance jumped almost 100.00 per month. She is no longer on the policy, but he is stuck with these rates for 3-5 years now.
