This would make sense if the noise occurred every time the truck is put in reverse, moves, stops and moves forward again. I’m my case, it does it even when the trucks last movement before being parked was going forward. I get back after it has sit for a few minutes and restart, move forward again never putting the truck in reverse and clunk.

I will be taking it back to the dealership once I have some free time.

Starting to think the noise is coming from the ABS module. I know a lot of Tundra owners were complaining about the same noise which turned out to be the ABS self testing which is why it’s only heard after each start up. Will try to isolate and report back.

LOL Working as a foreign car tech, a woman pulls into the shop for a scraping noise under her car. She is ballistic, and wasn't even a customer. I heard the scraping noise before she stopped the car and glanced up from my desk. I saw something bright orange under the car, before she even walked in. I bet you can't guess what that ORANGE Road CONE WAS LOL

And no it never ever happened. I was never called out with the wrecker because a car wasn't in park.. That never happened ever

The difference between me and you is you make appointments. I would be the guy to like the guy you would make the appointment to. You probably ran over an orange road cone and that is what you hear. Have a good day I don't argue with libtards or get into on line arguments with snow flakes This must be your first truck

If it’s the same thing I have, it’s 100% not anything brake related. I believe it’s the swaybar end links being loose. I haven’t examined yet but will look when I do my front brakes this weekend.

I have the exact same clunk; it only happens once when the truck gets moving after it’s been parked for awhile. It happens on bumps and it’s LOUD. It started not so loud at new but has gotten progressively worse. I know it’s not brake related because every morning at work, I back my truck into the same spot. When I leave work, I put my foot on the brake, put it in drive, start moving and go over a hump in the parking garage. As the weight shifts, I get a loud clunk from the right front. It’s then good for the rest of the drive.

It only happens when the weight shifts as you go over bumps. It’s not brake related. I can hit the brakes without replicating if I’m starting my drive on flat ground but the second the weight shifts on a bump, my clunk comes back.

    Dealership is “unable to replicate.”

Yeah sounds like your clunk is different than the OP's and mine. Ours just does it when we leave our parking spot. Mine rolls about 6 to 8 feet before it will clunk. Does not do it again till you come back out from a store or such then pull or back out to leave.

I have that clunk as well.

I don't mind my truck making noises, but I like to know what's normal and what's not in my truck (specially because I upgraded the suspension).

That's why I started looking into that noise, because it was a LOUD CLUNK. I was able to pinpoint it to the front wheels, and after a while I was able to replicate it everytime.

It happens when I'm releasing the brake and turning the wheels at the same time. At first I thought it was only after being parked, but it was a coincidence that when I drove off I was slowly releasing the brake and turning into the street.

I have not looked further after reading about the floating brake pads. I hope it's that, if not - I really don't know because everything else is fine.

I understand but mine only does it when I leave my parking spot as well. It just does it on the first bump. After that, it won’t do it again until I park it and then come back hours later.

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
Check out the thread I made here. I had a noise similar to what you're describing, only under different circumstances. Tried the radiator mount like others have said and it didn't do it. Didn't think it was brake pad slap. Turned out to be a body mount under the driver's side kick panel.

Mine does not clunk going over bumps. I'm debating stopping in at O'Reilly's and buying a pair of Anti-Rattle clips or just drive it like the service dept. told me. I'm doing some reading I found on a Google search now trying to see if I can learn anything.

Fine by me, but I was the one to find the clunk in a Saab 99. That was a coke bottle made of real glass back in the day, and was welded inside a rear quarter panel. It even had a note in Swedish .
