Just curious on what spring rates people are running on there Kings. The set I got has 650lbs springs but I'm going to replace them do to they are beat up. My truck is a regular cab 4 cylinder with a trail gear front bumper. No winch but maybe adding one. Should I go with 550, 600 or 650?

I would say you will be good with the 650s for a regular cab, 4 cyl, bumper and winch, unless you feel it is too harsh now. If that is the case, then go 600s. You may havr to add a little more preload with a winch.

When you say beat up, do you mean the blue coating on the springs?

I have Kings on the front of my 04 Dcab. They came with 600lb springs. When I put my Shrockworks bumper on, it definitely weighted them down, and I had yet to put on my winch. I called Down South Motorsports and discussed the springs with them. With my bumper, winch, being a Dcab with the V6, I went with 700lb springs. When my grame was replaced by Toyota, I had the new springs put on. I still don't have my winch on, so I have very little preload on the 700s and they are much stiffer.

As for the blue paint on the springs, one winter on salted roads had them looking crappy already...and I did try keeping it clean when I could.

To be honest I don't know the whole history of the shocks. I bought them knowing that I'd be replacing a lot of stuff on them. This is what they look like right now.

I have non rusted 600# king springs $50 bucks if you want, you pay shipping, they’re heavy. Lightly used because I have 650# springs I purchased when I bought from Kings facility in OC. Barely a scratch on em. I’ll shoot pics if you’re interested just pm me so mods don’t get mad and move this over.
