This is the sort of thing that let’s you know who your real friends are... but don’t worry your bed won’t get scratched and that’s the important thing right?

    No.
Good friends have a habit of saying, “ that’s ok, it was there, it’s no big deal, I can’t see it, it’ll buff out, nothing happened, your truck has something wrong with it, didn’t know it was 2 wheel drive, how come your truck makes this noise, that paint is cheap, it won’t cost anything to fix, on and on.
    No.

Looks to me that it's split down the middle...some say yes, others say no. Do what you're comfortable with OP. Like I said, if he's that good of a friend, he'll understand if you say no.

Hide your Taco. Say it’s in service if you’re too embarrassed to say no. The only other person who can drive my Taco is my wife. That’s because if she damages it I get a nice new accessory for it to make up. Or a new truck.

I was worried about this kind of stuff when I purchased my truck. Buying a truck should not be an invitation to every Tom, Dick, and Harry to request moving assistance or usage of my truck. My truck is not "just a truck." It is not some piece of industrial equipment that can be used and abused indefinitely. Its my recreational vehicle and my weekend car. It was a huge investment to purchase it and mod it to my liking. A poor investment from a purely financial standpoint, mind you, but an investment nonetheless. I will do my darnedest to keep it looking shiny and pretty for as long as possible. My buddies are welcome to ask, but if they are surprised or get all butthurt when I politely say "no," they are probably not my close friends to begin with.

Btw, here is one of my very first additions to the truck:

This is what I do. Especially, since I drive stick. Who'd complain about a free ride to the dump with their bud?

    IMO...

    No!

    Or

You lend a hand and drive him while keeping and eye on your truck.

My mom is the only one that “borrows” my truck... and that’s only to take in the recycling and she drives like a grandma.

I’ve had people ask to borrow a truck for a weekend and the bed is full of mulch fibers and the gas tank is empty. If he borrows it, it better return in a better condition than it left.

Growing up our papa always told us “Sons, never lend your girl or your car.”

All our friends know that story by now. They don’t even bother to ask.

PS - OP: send a link of this thread to your buddy. That will take care of the “issue.”

No your not it’s pretty reasonable to be up tight about your property. I’m pretty protective over my things, but I have let my best friend use my truck before when he visits cause I use his 4Runner when I visit him on the mainland. If you have full coverage insurance and you trust him to take care of your stuff I see no problem. Also fantastic first name, your mother is a very smart woman to name you Jeremy.

If he's a good friend, you should be able to say "F* off! Go buy a truck." and no love lost. But I would still lend a hand this time. He won't ask again.

Then get him a $20 Uhaul gift card to rent a truck.

A gift card should eliminate any traces of douchebaggery.
