If you get a CB, get a cheap one with an antenna that will go outside the truck.

GMRS is better, but requires a $75 license (no test). Radios are also more expensive.

 

But need to be programmed to work correctly under the law

Small is a understatement small is 5 to 10 it's pass that already

 

It's ok. I have one. You gotta keep it on your dash if you want any sort of signal. It's it down at your side it'll have a hard time getting line-of-sight. You could pair it with a CB antenna but that's substantially more work.

You're talking about a brand with radios that run the gamut. I have one of theirs as well and it's only useful for HAM and GMRS/FRS frequencies (both require a license). If you guys are running CB it won't be useful at all.
