I can see that with big threads like this and someone quoting a super old post. I will remember that trick from now on

I've never been to Memphis, and every time I mention that to someone in Nashville they always say "Oh you should go! It's a lot of fun, but just try not to get shot."

    I still haven't gone.

if you get a carry permit, obviously carry wherever you go... that's what I did.

That being said, their blues history museum downtown is fantastic

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.

LOL. It's not really that bad.
Every city/town has a wrong side of the tracks.
Memphis has a bunch of random pockets rather than 1 specific bad area.

The entitled young women in "good" parts of town bug me more than the thugs in the "bad" parts of town.

I mean I just carry anyways when I'm not at work, so it's not really a knock on Memphis, but I do agree, there are certain parts that are a little sketch, and they aren't all that hard to find when you are staying close to downtown and have to venture out a few blocks to get groceries.

    story time -

my dash cams stuff all came in two days ago. all set to install and realized i got the regular size fuse add a circuit instead of the low profile mini one.

so, no cam was installed last night on my way home. 7:00, still light out, i’m waiting at the last green light before home.

light turns green. i shift out of neutral and and start slipping the clutch.

HONKKK behind me. ain’t gonna ruin my day.

i take my sweet time though out of the the turn. shift to 2nd. it’s a hill so i’m going slow and not minding giving the asshole behind me a little lesson in go-fuck-yourself, speedy.

guy crosses double yellow to pass me. we’re at the top of the hill now and i can see my driveway. don’t make it easy for the guy to pass.

so he guns it, pulls in front and cuts me off. slams brakes. full stop. i have to slam mine not to hit his gran cherokee.

dude puts his car in park and gets out. five cars behind me, all stopped.

guy rushes my car door. i’m looking at his hands and waistband. nothing i can definitively see.

i put my ebrake on and hand on glock. open the door as he charges at me and stand up between my door and the cab.

got about a foot of height on the guy. he notices that and hesitates.

i say “get back in the car, guy”

thankfully he runs and takes off.

really wish i had ordered the right add a fuse.

glad i didn’t kill the guy. the next guy he pulls this shit on might be having a worse day than i was.
