Are you just trying to get a new (smaller) taillight? If you're handy enough to make a mounting bracket, I've always thought these are pretty awesome to use for a similar project:

    http://www.morimotohid.com/morimoto-5stop-brake-light.html

Already 3-wire for both running and brake output, but doesn't have plate illumination so you might have to get creative there... or ride dirty.

Yeah and something that goes with the bike.

Those dont look bad. I think im going to go with the drc but ill have to keep those in mind for the future definitely.

I think if you rocked a plate close enough to the tail light you could get away without a true license plate light

hmmm ordered some more goodies :anonymous: i cant help myself

mirrors (drc offroad mirrors). had 1 on my drz and it was great. i compared to doubletake and just didnt like the ram mounting style although i almost thought about only doing trail mirrors to clean the bike up more. stock mirrors make a rattle noise that has been driving me crazy :frusty:

black headlight mask. want one for supermoto setup and keep the other with the windscreen on it for the enduro setup. the windscreen is just going to look out of place in supermoto trim

aluminum handguards. the factory ones are entirely plastic so ill keep them as a backup but i cant imagine ever needing them again.

Yeah, I down-sized from a 990 Adv a year or so ago. I'd crossed the country on the 990 on back roads, know I prefer even smaller roads

The other day I had a vision about a bike suited to going hunting medium game close to home, because I'm a weirdo that likes to try to combine many hobbies simultaneously. I couldn't come up with the bike I wanted to put underneath the gear, but that 690 Enduro looks like it fits the bill. Mid-sized, durable, bags, gear rack on the rear, and fairly light.

690 is a great bike. id also look into a 500exc if you want something more offroad related plus its quite a bit lighter

The gearing on the sportster is very short (especially on the 883) if you're planning to do any highway miles I wouldn't recommend a sportster, that said I have had a few 500+ mile days on my sportster 48 when I owned it. The only other advice I can really give you is to spend time in dealer ships taking test rides, it being summer in New England there's demo days very frequently. Also a lot of people are looking to start dumping bikes on craigslist before they have to store them for the winter, so you might have some luck there too once you figure out what you like. Despite what the various forums will tell you the bikes being produced today are very reliable and the warranties are pretty good, gone are the days of the AMF harley.

Edit: holy shit this bike is a blast again. Ridiculous fun to ride in sm trim. Brakes feel a little vague though so i may step up to the 320mm rotor

The steering was good, the weight is down low due to the 2.1 gallon gas tank so plan on stopping for gas every 75-85 miles. The scorcher tires on the 48 are good for a stock tire, however I am a bit spoiled with my Avon cobras on my current bike. The fat front tire with forward controls does take a bit of extra effort to turn in at first, but with a touch of counter steer the bike falls right over.

Lots of great bikes out there, but I love my Indian Scouts. I got back into riding and wanted a sporty cruiser for commuting and just general fun riding, but not any long trips. I have a Scout 60 and a Scout Bobber. My kids both learned on the Scouts, so they make a very mild mannered bike, but they more than enough power for spirited rides. In the 550lb range, so they are easy to maneuver in town in tight places.

Compared to taller bikes that weigh close to 1000lbs, you bet. My daughter is around 5'4", 120 lbs and had no problem at all learning to ride on them.

Man i cant imagine getting on a bike that heavy. 400lbs is about what most sport bikes weigh and thats enough for me. My ktm is 320lbs dry.
