A man after my own heart. Eggs, SPAM and rice is my favorite breakfast. I have to learn to make rice in a pot over an open flame lol.

Maybe practice on the BBQ pit at home first then you could try it in the field. We cook rice like this in the stove all the time.

Then she should be able to show you the best way.
We are in South Louisiana. Rice is a staple. Never waste it. Goes with everything.

Hawai’i same way. We use some fancy ass rice cooker I don’t even no how to use, it’s all in Japanese. Her mom knows how though so I’ll wait for a visit.

Arriving at designated dispersed camp sites on a Friday afternoon is a no go on the front range. Went up today to stake our claim. Hopefully the tents are still there tomorrow haha.

I ended up replacing mine with a 3" air mattress. More support and insulation from the cold. It fits perfect side to side, but it does leave one end. I just use that area for my boots, clothes, heater if it's cold out.

Since you're on the subject of mattresses, I figured I'd share the deal I got on this rechargeable mattress pump. Got it about a month ago and it works great! My old pump ran on d batteries which was a pain.

I've got a Goal Zero Yeti 400 I use with my fridge. I run the power cord to my inverter in the bed while I'm driving to charge it, but I'm looking for something I can use to keep the charge up as much as possible while the truck is off. I can get 2-3 days out of it now. But I want to get 4-5 days. Eventually, I want to install a second battery, but that is way down on my todo mod list.

Just got an email today from Harbor Freight. I’m sure this is not of high quality, but it may be work a look.

That doesn't look bad. Its a fraction of the cost of the name brand racks.

Figured if you get a coat of bed liner on it, might last for a while, maybe put it on a bed rack. Just thinking about it. Working man’s way of getting started.
