Let’s see if $400 is enough to get these bars then. That’s not even including shipping which is probably another $100.

Audio is very important to me. Keeps me calm in this never ending rush hour traffic. That being said I’ve got a lot of stuff waiting to go on.

    Alpine ILX207
    JL C5 door speakers
Rockford T amps (mono and 4 ch)
And debating just reusing my old JBL sub till it blows

You know it's amazing the things that function properly when they are built to withstand the power being put through them. ;) :D

No but really I have not broken a thing engine or tranny wise despite all this power I'm putting through it now.

I very much agree! My music is very important to me as well and so I want it to keep up with my demands always.

If there is one thing I would suggest is that you look for different door speakers. JL is a fantastic subwoofer manufacturer but their speakers fall notably short on their face in comparison to other competitive manufacturers of the same caliber.

Some raging asshat behind you honking in stop and go traffic? Turn up the music!

Too late :( bought them a year ago and can’t return. Don’t much feel like selling them and dealing with “will you take $20 and a half eaten mcchicken?”

Right now the quick change only comes in 2.8 and 2.9, but he is having pulley diameters produced all the way down to 2.2 from what I’ve heard. The nice part is that this system was designed for the Tacoma, so buying and installing was a simple. Not that the other systems aren’t easy to install but from what I’ve read here you have to call in your order by phone which I’ve never been a big fan of. I’m fine with phone call but I hate giving CC information by phone.

Had to use locktite twice to hold the mirror on.

Locktite do tell of this mod?

The rearview mirrors on these trucks absolutely suck. They won't stay in one position to save their lives. Them and the sun visors which eventually droop down. The two things that have always made me rage with this truck.

The subs shake it so bad it backs the screw out and gets all floppy. Wont surprise me it the temp/compass sensor fail prematurely.

Show me the screws please. I didn't even know these junks had screws in them.

Have you jumped your 14 like on my sig? Lol. I would bet that my mirror issues stem from that. To be fair here I got one of those more heavier (yes I know that is wrong lol) compass/ temp/home link/ auto dimming mirrors so the piece of crap weighs more than the usual basic piece. Does your 14 have this sort of mirror?

I bought the temp/compass setup from bob's mirrors on tw. Very happy with it. Yes, it has a set screw.

Just finished up with mine a couple weeks back:
    Dnx994s
    JL VX1000/5i
    6.5 Morel hybrids running active.
    (2) JL 10w3v3’s
Tons of sound deadening. CLD’s MLV Thermal barrier and lots of melamine.
Still tuning a bit, but getting closer

Yeah I always feel like initial install usually requires some decent tweakignto get right after it is all installed and set up.

I need sound deadener, especially in the back of the cab. This competition grade 8" is going to be blowing my cab up, I have a feeling of it.

Yeah, especially with the dsp and active crossover setups. Sometimes you just have to listen to it for while before you keep tweaking on it. That’s why I like the JL setups. I can set multiple crossover, eq’s and speaker time alignments/ gains then just change it with a push of a button.
Sound deadening is a worthy time investment. Can’t stand rattles and vibrations.

Lucky man. I almost wish at this point I had the basic one. Lol.

You know, these trucks really lack deadening of any kind it is almost sort of criminal that they do that, charge as much as they do, and get away with it. Looking back on it all I sort of wish I bought a basic SR5. It would had been much cheaper in the long run to mod it how I wanted it. I do agree, sometimes you just have to sit on it and listen to it for a while before you do any tweaking. One thing that I understand the importance of big time is setting up the gain on the subwoofer properly. Especially on a more expensive setup, you clip the sub signal too long and bye bye it goes. Speakers seem to be a bit more forgivkng, but should be dialed in correctly as well especially after you've gave the system some good runs.
