Personally, I'd much rather have a camp someplace on a water body in the western mountains. But, I can't deny that having one right down the road would be convenient.

Honestly I never seem to have a problem with traffic going to the Cape. I don't leave early to "beat traffic " like everyone else seems to. I leave after work on a Friday and get right though.

Surprisingly, the 'baby delete mod' is one we haven't had to do, even though we're working on 15 years together.

That's probably a good thing. I hear it's no fun for the woman.

Fridays don't tend to be bad. But trying to get on cape using either bridge saturday between 9-11am is brutal. It's because rentals are all Saturday to Saturday and you can't get in til 1pm typically so everyone is trying to get on at the same time.

That Ram shop truck looks like it's lived a rough life

Yeah, but purchasing this one will tie up enough funds that buying a camp out in the boonies will be a no-go for quite a while, lol.

You should have seen the collection of bikes they had in there. It was a warehouse but it also seemed like a museum

    Will be worth it!!!

If you can't use it, it's just another bill! If the electric thing goes bad, sell the regular house and just live in the camp. Then you can still get another camp in the western mountains.

The long-term plan is to split the house into a duplex (it already has a finished cellar with a second kitchen; right now I use it for canning) and rent either one or both halves. The camp may end up being a rental as well; we'd like to find some decent acreage and build a house to our specs at some point.

Sabattus is probably a much better place to AirBnb than the Western Maine lakes. That's a nice lake and you'll have no problem finding renters.

That's what we're figuring. Plus it's year-round capable, so we'd be able to get the 'sled crowd' and ice fishing crowd during snow season too.

Makes sense, it is a good chunk of money every month

That is the most ideal, build to spec. Everything I've poked around at locally isn't too tempting.

I don't know about regularly, but I know the big weekends draw a lot of ATV/UTV riders in the summer and then there are snowmobile trails nearby. Sugarloaf and Rangeley are both about a half hour away so to me it really isn't too bad, but then again I tend to not be like most

Cape runs aren't too bad going and coming on Sunday mornings. Definitely before 10am though.
