buddy at work got his 2012 transmission flushed yesterday and said it's shifting so much better. I think I need to get mine done, to my knowledge it never has been.

You've got an 08 with just 90K on the clock? Man, and I thought I was doing well for my 08 to have just shy of 120k.

 

Might let Toyota do that one. Just following along with Matt’s plan.

 

I had to have mine done at 80K. I dumped the trans fluid one morning after working a long week of shifts. I let the shop fix my screw up I didn't realize it until the next morning when my truck was shifting like shit. I drove 3 miles to the shop and they drained the oil and replaced both the motor and trans oil
I just hit 100K and have had no problems since. I put one of the fumoto valves on the engine afterwards

 

know the cost? he just used a toyota specialist shop up here and it was 180$
