So I can get gears, install kits, and the front locker for $1050 shipped on Amazon. I got a quote from a 4x4 vender of $1310 shipped for the same.

$300 is a lot but I'd also rather support vendors than Bezos. Guess we'll see what the others quote at.

Mfer knows his stuff. After seeing everyone's ideas on cause of it, etc his theory sounded most plausible. Nice that you work with metal. Most prolly just leave it and deal with squeaky for life

I was just gonna redo my temp fix of throwing some teflon in there. But then I saw shiny metal where some rubbing was taking place, and remembered what he posted about it looking too long. 5 mins with a grinder and problemo solved.

You could fly direct from Chicago into my airport, rent a car, get seats which are 1 hr from airport, and drive home (11ish hours).

Ahhhh, good eye. The beauty of doing your own work. I doubt a shop would catch that stuff, now it's on TW forever to help the masses. Nice work man

Is that $1200 for one with an ARB as well? Or just an open 8.4 diff with 5.29 gears?

Adds to the long list of reasons why you should never buy cheap leaf springs.
