It’s possible for a flush to do more harm than good. Don’t know what constitutes “high” mileage on these transmissions though

Any takers on some FREE wet okole's with a little too much wear in one spot to actually sell? I know it's a long shot, I just hate to toss them. They are grey and match OEM grey interior. The wear is just on one spot on the driver side; worn through the piping where I've been sliding across the seat to enter/exit the truck. Replaced with Katzkins and can't see myself needing Okoles again. Anyway, just throwing it out there.

How would a flush do more harm than good?

I'd say 160k is justification for a flush lol

I have heard some sort of lore, long ago, regarding such a thing. I think the logic was something to the effect of the transmission had so much wear on it, and so many metal flakes in the fluid that the fluid was acting as some sort of super-slurry. Supposedly this helped a high mileage vehicle shift far smoother than what new ATF would be capable of. I'm definitely a skeptic but would love for others to tell me I'm wrong.

It really just amplifies a potential existing problem. The flush itself doesn’t cause it.

Truth. Often wish I went with manual. Think it would have made me want to drop money on a crawl box quicker though

If you decide not to DIY, I highly recommend AAMCO in HSV. They do quality work and are reasonably priced. Also, veteran owned and operated... :oldglory:

No, but a semi major repair in my wife’s Durango was half of what the dealer charges.

    I would expect <$200

The times I've asked about it, I'm told "It's a closed system. Can't be serviced." Of course Lynch Toyota sucks so that probably has something to do with it. They say they can't even test a battery so.....yeah.

Where did your buddy have it flushed?
