I'd like a Tundra for a work truck. It's just the single cabs are so weirdly out of proportion.

The F-150's did a good job of combatting it, there's that sorta half window behind it that makes it look better than just a door.

 

Is it concerning if your truck suddenly starts running cooler than usual? Ive noticed lately I'm cruising at 183 degrees pretty much consistently at operating temp around town, it used to be 190 - 195. Haven't done anything that would effect the cooling system recently.

Not sure if that's a good or bad thing since usually people are worried about running hotter than normal...but figured I'd see if anyone knows for sure.

 

Only thing I can think of that would cause an engine to run cooler than usual out of the blue is a stuck open thermostat

 

Yeah that's what I read too when looking online. It's only about 8 - 10 degrees cooler than normal so I dunno if that would point to the thermostat or not, but I'll keep a close eye on it and see what happens.

 

If it gets worse I’d agree that the thermostat is probably stuck open. Otherwise probably nothing to worry too much about. Could be outside air temp affecting it. Though I imagine it’s pretty warm on the west coast right now.

Is it taking longer to warm up? If it is then it’s likely a thermostat. If it isn’t it’s possible you burped a air pocket out...

reports are these get weathered and crusty in AZ, but cannot find pics to see what I am up against exposing mine (further than before the past week)

Nice, might I suggest purchasing the dynamic tensioner so you can’t over tighten it?

(And if you do get one sell me the old one)

 

I haven't really been monitoring the warm up time since it's always been pretty fast at warming up, but I'll keep an eye on it.

nah been dry and in the 70s/80s here lately. Getting warmer out though but not humid, we don't really get humidity here...at least not like you guys do
