What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

is there another option? i would rather leave mine separate from the LineX liner, in case one should ever break! would not be much of a hassle to replace
and it would be different color than the premium coat, gotta keep it looking sharp!

 

Well that's why you'd paint each of them separately and then install it all. Or figure out what material the hook is and get the same material of hardware, then bed-line your bed. Or just live with the rust, the PO on mine bed-lined everything and I haven't had any issues in 5 plus years of owning it

 

what happens if one of the hooks happens to break?
is it going to be a major PITA pain to replace the rope hook and dig liner out and not damage the spray-in material


are these hooks powdercoatable?

 

No clue, not sure how'd they would break with the way I use them. Mainly just ratchet straps. Probably just grind it off and then use pliers to get the bolts out.

I don't see how they aren't, but that's a lot of money/effort for just some hooks that cost $11 or whatever they are

 

i have never 'truly' used my hooks in 22 years, since they have always been buried beneath a plastic over-the-rail liner, always been a hassle to feed a rope back there, usually have used some xtra heavy duty pull string type of setup lol if I need to hold something in place, oftentimes just throw a dropcloth and bunches and bunches of bricks

if nobody's have ever broken before then they should be good 2 go!
gonna have to visit the professional paint store for another reason now (first reason is to find some stripper that is safe to use on the plastic OEM center wheel caps to remove the scuffed up finish smooth and repaint)

My younger brother and his wife just bought a beautiful 1500 sq ft home in Kansas City, MO with big front/back yards for a whopping $155,000 haha. Color me jealous, but it'll be a cold day in hell before I ever move to the midwest (no offense to anyone that lives there...I was born there so I do have some experience to back that statement up).

Finally got my transmission cooler installed. Had to battle my horn cause it wouldn’t work after I relocated it, but after 30 minutes of fighting it finally started working

 

Nice! I just did this a couple weeks ago as well, has drastically improved my Trans Temp for sure. I haven't yet re-located the horn, so my system sounds super wimpy running with only 1 horn now.

Virtually all of our family lives in Missouri so we always went back to visit growing up, and now with my brother living there I'll be going back more regularly again. I can't escape lol.

 

I need to take the filter out and clean it, that's easy to do, 40 pounds is what my tires call for,
If your town has lots of pot holes and construction like here you will need an alignment on a regular basis

Because most manufacturers say you should change the engine oil annually if you don't reach the required mileage
