    Never really considered a homemade UDS before but $20 seems cheap enough that even if I screwed it up I wouldn't be out much. Only hesitation would be having another, even bigger smoker taking up space.

    Always grab a couple of them in case something goes wrong. I'm sure @bvbull200 would offer up some tips to ya, he has built a bunch of them.

    Those have a red liner... it needs to be removed prior to cooking. and the red liner is known as a GIANT PITA to remove. it is highly recommended to find someone to media blast it out.

    google "UDS Red Liner"

    But, UDS's are sweet. that's mostly what @bvbull200 runs I believe

    Picanha is a disappointment tbh. I've cooked it a couple different way and unless its perfect its nothing spectacular. Good? yes. Spectacular and worth the inflated price it sometimes carries? Nah

    I use my gasser frequently too. Mostly just to set stuff on when using the pellet grill.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Watch for the end of season sales on either the smaller Akorn metal kamados or perhaps the small vision ceramic units from sams club if they have them this year.

    agreed on that. Haven't tried myself but when it's on point it's good stuff. Luckily the few times I've had it there, it has been good.

    Definitely internet hyped price point now though.

    I wish that were near me

    on a side note, it says 3 for $50 or 6 for $100...if he's doing everyones math he might aswell have added 9 for $150 and 12 for $200. Oh wait was that suppossed to be a deal? The more you buy the same you pay per barrel?

    They are great cookers and can be made for next to nothing. Highly recommended.

    Hit me up and I'll chat you through everything I've learned in building them.

    Absolutely!

    For smoking, it's ALL I use. Same goes for the competition team. Fleet of UDS's!

    My dad was making jokes about it last time saying that the damn Brazilians are getting waste cuts, putting a fancy name on em, and passing them as high end :rofl:
