Sorry for the delay! I thought these were posted a while back but there must have been some issue with me being unintelligent and all.

Since these were taken I have flipped the gun around to be facing the other direction. The rubber in the mounts I bought just slides out but does not move at all while a gun is on there. I am also able to fit a .22lr with a scope and a shotgun in the bottom side by side with a piece of extra felt in between them. This is not a permanent mount for those two but it keeps them out of the way.

    Mounts:
    Ease of install - 9
When using a power drill to bolt it in with the bolts provided, I ended up touching the strap with the drill because it was at an odd angle. Small worn spot in the strap but I didnt feel like hand cranking it through 1'' of plywood even with a predrilled hole.

    Secure? - 10
I have not heard any of my guns move one time. No bouncing around, clanking, nothing. And I am out hunting on these terribly rocky Arizona roads every weekend.

    Ease of access - 10
Pull the seat, with the gun facing away from you, all you have to do is un strap the strap over the butt of the gun. Then slide the barrel out. It is a rubber and should not scratch the barrel whatsoever.

Any other questions feel free to ask!

About time! You should get a piece of the carpet and cover over the exposed blue painted area.

Good job man. Looks like there is room for anouther gun on there, no?

I could mount another one it will just have to be right below it. But I would not be able to mount a third. At some point when I get the next set of mounts, I will be able to make a few slots for ammo and accessories. But I like it.

This is an awesome build. Bought my 2011 truck back in July, and wanted to put a gun rack behind the rear seat. This became critical after a recent hunt to Colorado, with 3 rifles bouncing off each other in the back seat for a couple thousand miles. A simple search on TW and voila, Jake91 has done the hard part. This build is going on my Taco in the very near future. Thanks Jake!

Hey thanks! I am glad I could help. I tried searching for several different options but could not find anything custom made for the back seat. I'm really glad it could help you too. I still use mind about every other weekend to hold three guns and I never hear any noise or rattling back there. Should work well! Good luck!

I had the same issue with hauling guns.
I did a little different route and made racks that "hook" in the cab panel and then lined the entire panel with 3/8" adhesive backed foam.
Works good, still need to make a tray for the bottom to haul other stuff.

This looks pretty simple and efficient, does your seat hold the guns in place so they dont bounce off the rack? And how are your hooks attached?

Seat does help hold them but they stay in place pretty well any how.
I got a little creative on how the "hooks" stay in place. The flat plate the hooks are welded to slides up into the channels then the bottom has cut out kickers that keep them from sliding down which locks them in place.
I don't have pics of how I did it, can get them later. Fairly simple design, just hard to explain.

Awesome build, thanks for posting all details and pics. Will be building the same thing this weekend.

Do you think there would be enough room to add a hinged piece of plywood to the front that could be padlocked? Just need a way to fully lock it when parking in town and running errands etc.

I’m not sure it would, but it depends on the scope. I think the back seat would come very close to the scope when it was closed. Maybe a way you could individually lock the gun to the back though. Like if you installed some sort of anchor through the wood and even to the cab. Or flipping the gun upside down. I’d play around with it tho.
